A good game. I like the characters, but it doesn't seem all that different than the previous Big City Adventures. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I was hoping they would do something different rather than the exact same mini-games in the previous ones. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Very deep game for fans of the genre. The game has a lot of levels but they go by quickly. The art is very well done and having the postcards with facts about the city is a very nice touch. The team introduces a few new mechanics with the various coins you can find, in addition to a regular hint coin there are coins that show you three hints, add time to your game, and add points. The mini games are fairly basic and though they are themed to NYC, they don't really progress the story. They are just there to allow you to break up your gameplay. This is why I don't like the fact that you have to earn the right to skip them. I think an option to skip the minigames outright would have been better. All in all it's a very enjoyable game, hours of game play and worth a buy. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I enjoyed the first two games in the Big City series (San Francisco and Sydney) and this new one is more of the same. There are 90 levels of hidden object play, each followed by a mini-game (you can earn skip chips by playing the mini-games so if there is one you don't particularly like you can give it a miss) making 180 levels in all and excellent value for money! There are 8 different mini-games, some of which will be familiar from the earlier games plus a couple of new ones. This game is for those like me who like their HO straightforward with puzzles inbetween, not as part of the HO levels. Objects range between extremely easy to find and requiring a hint (and everything inbetween). Your HO scenes are from a variety of locations in New York (how accurate, I could not say, being from the UK) and if the formula of the earlier games holds true you will visit each scene more than once, although the object list changes each time you do a scene (and each time you play the game). There are golden coins hidden within the scenes which give you more hints, extra time, extra points or the super hint (briefly hightlights all remaining hidden objects). To conclude, if you enjoyed the other two you should enjoy this one as well. HO adventurers will find it too tame. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

while apparently huge (based on the demo), i can see the boredom factor setting in because of the lack of variety in the mini-games and hidden object searches. 90 levels is a LOT and should take quite awhile to complete if you don't get tired of the sameness of each level (the same few mini-games keep repeating and there's no variety in the search mechanics). i'd never played any of the others (but may check them out based on some of the reviews, here). i thought the graphics were pretty good and the more difficult to find items were just because of the sheer number of them in each scene, NOT because they were impossible to find in matching-color shadows. the music was a nice, relaxing, light, piano-jazz that didn't detract (too short an audio loop) from game play and the graphics weren't annoyingly flat & abstract (like Pure Hidden). decent game, just not great. worth buying? probably. if you got bored, you could set it aside, play something else then come back and play until you got bored again...then keep doing this until you finish. seems like the game would take a week or more to finish...or, if you can play it all in one sitting (you better not have a job or anything else to do), spend 24 hours on it (guessing, here). Yes this game is big but that doesn't make it good. I enjoyed the previous efforts but I don't like this one. It seems uglier than the others and the objects are NOT well defined. The mini-games are very easy and repetitive (what can you expect in a huge game in a segment that keeps copying itself?) and end up by their very nature being boring. As far as I can tell there is no reason for this game to exist other than it's about New York. If you've never played a Big City Adventure game start with any one of the other three. Unless you're obsessed about New York. In which case there are better ways to learn about the city than with this game. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Another Big City Adventure game! I had high hopes when I downloaded the 1 hour trial, and son discovered that I wasn't to be disappointed. The family of characters from the first two games returned with a vacation in a new city. Once again, I played as Mom, and went through scene after scene, searching for the hidden objects, that in this version, were much more cleverly hidden. Again, I enjoyed the jigsaw, and match 3 mnigames, along with the other puzzles. These Big City Adventures are well worth the $6.99 purchase price, due to it's 50 or 60 levels of play. It will require many hours of enjoyable game play to complete this one. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I loved this game! True, it's just your normal HOG at first glance, but **SPOILER ALERT** (I think) between each scene you search are these wonderful little puzzles that you have to solve in order to move forward in the game. What a brilliant idea! What a surprise! I found myself hurrying through the search scene (normally I take my time, finding only one object at a time, to make the game seeme to last longer) but I couldn't wait to get to these 'transition' puzzles. With a total of 90 scenes, half of them are these quick little mini-puzzles. It's like being served a lovely cool sorbet between courses of a fancy meal. These puzzles give your brain a moment to clear away the remnants of the last scene, and prepare for the next one. Kudos to the developer of this game. I wouldn't mind seeing this feature scattered around here and there occasionally, not alot, because then it loses it's charm, but just now and again in other games. These mini-puzzles are a lovely 'palate cleanser'. As for the HOG itself, it's fun, items are fairly easy to find and interesting to boot, so by all means, give it a try - you won't be disappointed. Really well-made HOG, great production value. Plain fun to play, LOADS of variety in scenes (a rare treat these days.) Only minus - mini games are too easy and repetitive. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I'd say run-of-the-mill HOG. Too cartoony for my taste. I give it 3 because the hidden objects are visible, a big plus. :) Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate
