The puzzles are generated randomly, so there's no one right solution. Indeed, sometimes the easiest thing is to leave the book, restart the game, and see if you get an easier one the next time. That said, if you get it all the way down to just one gear rotating the wrong way, the best tip I can give you is that each gear in a sequence reverses the direction. So that if you have 3 gears in a row, they are turning clockwise, counterclockwise, clockwise (or vice versa). So if you have just one turning the wrong way, take a look and see if there's a way to put it in a sequence with one more connection. Sometimes, for example, you could move it off one large gear over to the end of two small gears, meaning it's no longer in an A B sequence but is now in an A B C sequence (which will turn it the other way). But it may just be that you started with the wrong idea and need to start over. Just remember as you're building sequences that they are alternating direction, and that may help.Good luck!

(Oh, to get a new puzzle I think you have to let the book time out, then restart it.)

Here is a screen shot of the Cogs puzzle. This puzzle is random so these pictures are just examples. As each cog is placed out from the starting cog it will move in the opposite direction of the cog it touches. The goal is to have the gold cogs with the black arrows to turn in the direction indicated on their arrows.

I seem to be stuck because once I moved the gears they won't let me move them to other places. They jump back to the original position. Do I have to time out the book and start again?

I found that I had to move them off to the edge to store them. Once I got them to stick there, I could then move them back into the middle to create a sequence. (And of course the gold gears can't be moved at all.) I agree with everyone who's said that one of the hard things about this puzzle is just getting the gears to connect even when you're trying to make the right sequence. It's just tricky placement.

Yes the Gear puzzle nearly drove me nuts. I'm good at those and could see a possible solution but it wouldn't let me place the gears where I had in mind. It occurs to me that the PuzzleMeister has one particular solution in mind and won't accept any others.
One thing that helps a little is that the gear you are moving turns a lighter color when over an "acceptable" position.
(There is another game with lots of gear puzzles that I think are better done, but I can't think what game that is.)

Micky asked: I didn't see a post for this book, does anyone know what the heck you are supposed to do in this book, so far all I could find is a mirror handle and nothing else except the hole in the barrel and the treasure chest that needs to have something done to it???????????

This is one of those books where the general hint system is really helpful. Just in case you haven't found it yet, here are those basic instructions. On each page, look in the lower right hand corner. You will see a picture of Titus in a circle with other tiny little circles ("orbs") next to it. This is the hint system for the game. The picture will either be just a picture of Titus, or the words "Page Completed" printed over a faded picture of him. If it says "Page Completed," you're done with that page.If it doesn't say "Page Completed," you can click on Titus to get more help with the page. Now one of two things will happen.A. Titus will tell you that he can show you the next required action, but it will cost you some time. You decide whether you want to do this or not. If you say yes, then there will be sparklies on the page to show you what to do next. If you cancel, you will return to the page--but now you know there is something that you have to do on this page. Or...B. Titus will tell you that you've done everything you can on this page so far, and you have to go get things from other pages to continue. This is incredibly helpful, and I have begun to think that those who finish the books quickly are mostly people who've figured out to look for this hint. Because once you know there's nothing more you can do on this page right now, but there will be more to do later, you stop wasting time and go on to the next page where there is something to do.There is one more part to the hint system...the orbs. As you work through the books successfully, one orb at a time will light up. You can then use a lighted orb to skip one of the minigames if you get stuck. You just click on a lighted orb to use it. This may be particularly helpful for a game like the Gears in this book, which can get frustrating.

Cnmoore, I agree! I HATE this puzzle! And of course, I'm having a hard time getting through it, I'm finding it very frustrating, as I'm unsure where the placemat needs to be of the gears, or even how many you're supposed to have ( a total) for that matter.

In the orginial game, I did really well with the pipes puzzles, and the matchsticks, they were puzzles I'd go back and replay. Some of these puzzles, like this one....I never want to see again! -
Lizzie, thanks so much for the screen shot pics! With your help, I was able to get it right away, thanks so much!

thistle, did you check out he screen shot pics that Lizzie posted? What worked for me, was I reset until I got one of the pages of gears that she provided and noted it. Once you know where to place them, it's very easy. Good luck.

Like everyone else, the hardest part was getting the darn gears to stay put where I wanted them to be....it seemed that after a while they...or I! ....gave up and they went quite naturally to the place where they were suppose to be....I just love the Azada game series. =)

I can't even get the gears to stick at all. Do they have to be on the gold gears? Next to them? I'm trying to match up the teeth, and the gears won't stay in place. They just go back to their original position...Advice?

The cogs only stick when they are lined up in a straight right angle to each other. It's like a clock face, you can only place a Cog at 3, 6, 9 or 12 o'clock. If you go to page one of this topic thread, I have posted a link to pictures of the solved Cogs puzzles.

Here are screen shots of the solutions to the Cogs puzzles. There are 3 different puzzles.
As each cog is placed out from the starting cog it will move in the opposite direction of the cog it touches. The goal is to have the gold cogs with the black arrows to turn in the direction indicated on their arrows.
Good luck!
