It sounds ambitious and very interesting. I dont mind the real-time thing but an option to suspend play should be provided. Sometimes you need a break or you have to leave for holidays or for work-related reasons and your characters should not die in your absence.

The issues that I have with Virtual Villagers is the game lacks structure, levels and goals. It is one of my least favorite casual games. The game is also played in real time, so if you do not play the game for a few days or weeks, your Villagers die. Personally I think that is ridiculous. In an ideal world, game lovers would be able to play whenever they please, but most people have other responsibilities and obligations..

As for Artist Colony, the screenshots look superb and I hope this game is a winner...

So far now still  luck on getting to like these kind of games, but again, still gonna try it out Undecided. Thanks for the info carfixer.

I'm addicted.  Can't figure out how to keep artists from becoming broken-hearted, though.  Any clues to that?

Actually, it's good that they're broken-hearted. Just find them a source of inspiration and then send them to create a masterpiece. The works by artists in love sell for higher price, but the masterpieces produced by broken-hearted creators are worth even more!

Another tip: no high-level (6 and upwards) masterpieces without some feelings. If the folks are getting too inspired during a musical or dancing show, I usually put them to yardwork or to study their chosen disciplines.

    Hi puppydogmom and everyone,

Puppy, Wasienka is correct by saying it is good to have villagers broken hearted. This makes them more inspired and their paintings will be better. The reason your villagers are broken hearted are probably because they have a crush that doesn't like them back. If it's not that, it might be because your villager is very hungry or tired.
