Originally wanted to give this game a 4 or a 5 but certain things detracted from it. I liked the game but didn't love it. There were a few things about it that made me lower the rating.
The most obvious one was the attitude in the game. Her boss Leon Chaser has a major bug stuck up his unmentionable from the get go. Nicole "Nikki" Bonnet wanted me to turn the sound off. I like her character but when you are trying to figure out things like a puzzle or how to combine something, god forbid you're not perfect. Major attitude comes tumbling down from her. Hearing "something less stupid next time" or one of her irritating phrases may not seem that bad at first but later on in the game, that will grate on your nerve.
I clicked on the gas can and the jeep thinking she would be put gas up the jeep only to get that stupid "something less stupid next time and boy was I miffed.
The voice acting is okay but I do find the porter's voice to be ridiculous. The one thing that I couldn't understand is why if they are using human voices, when the porter has to give you a phone number his voice suddenly switches to a robotic voice.
Solving the puzzles isn't clear. A little instruction would have been helpful. Some you can struggle through and others had me saying, "Thank God for the walk through."
The arrest and ending were disappointing.

I do like the game. It isn't nearly on the level of the CSI games nor Nancy Drew's but it is still better than Law and Order. The puzzles are much easier than Nancy's by far.

I'm not finished with this game, though I intend to finish it, but take it for what it's worth. So far, I have to say that this game is very slow (there are lots of scenes of watching your character walking across rooms -- slowly) and often very frustrating. As many have mentioned, it's very linear, so you can't pick up an object that you might need for later if you run across it. You can only gather things as you need them for a particular task most of the time. But then there are other times where you need to pick up something that makes no sense. It can be a little frustrating One big complaint I have is that many of the puzzles and actions are just not logical. For example, in one scene you need to flip a combination of switches to turn on some lights. The puzzle is randomly generated so there's no one answer, which is fine. However, as far as I could tell there's not a logical answer you can figure out. In addition, there are lots of wasted moves because every time you try a combination you have to move back to see if it worked. Some of the solutions to other problems are odd too. Without giving too much away, there's an approach to moving a crate that I'm not sure is creative or asinine. The general theme is neat, with a woman FBI agent attempting to solve a series of murders. The game is sold with a warning about language, which didn't bother me because it seems like it's in context. The voice acting is not bad (the main character sounds like Daria, so I'm finding myself picturing Daria growing up and joining the FBI...) This game is mostly frustrating because it could have been great. The story line is excellent, and the Nicole character is cool (although she must have missed some of the info on the Constitution in FBI training class). It's just very awkwardly done. I don't mind a hard game; I just mind a game that's hard because so much doesn't make sense.

As a large file adventure game,it needs to be polished a bit. The scenery was very good, the sound/music contributed to the eeriness & suspense, the voice-acting was decent, and you certainly get your money's worth in playtime. It also helped that you weren't allowed to leave an area till all tasks were complete. There was way to much dialogue that seemed to go on & on, some items couldn't be picked up till later in the game, and sometimes it was not logical what needed to be done. For instance, I would never think about climbing up a wall by stacking decorative jugs atop one another like a makeshift pottery ladder. Sometimes I knew what needed to be done next, knew which items to use, but the gameplay didn't follow a logical sequence so I struggled until I got it done. Also some tasks were padded with unnecessary steps, I suspect to extend gameplay. Adventure games are my first love, but if this is indicative of the series, I won't be back for the sequel.

Nice long adventure. It took me about 12 hours. This game has some good puzzles to solve. The storyline keeps you guessing. I enjoyed the game although I did get confused about how to proceed a few times. Overall good game.
