Totally fresh game style. It has a few glitches with the movie scenes. But I loved the new type room searches and the puzzles were fun too. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I wasn't born with the gift of the English language, so it was quite hard for me. I've missed the subtitles from the game because some characters - especially Ylli - spoke incomprehensibly. The story and artistic design is fantastic, but the graphics (even the cutscenes) is quite ugly. It looks like it was programmed ten years earlier. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

At first I really thought this game was going to be a winner. But as I continued playing, certain choices made by the game designers really started to bug me. I played on the medium level (Challenge) because I didn't want "fewer objects to find" (Easy) or fewer misses allowed" (Gamer). I wasn't happy that the game penalized me for misses at all -- especially since there were some matches which should have been legitimate, but which were considered "wrong guesses" because the game designers hadn't thought of them. For example, given the words Cup and News, I saw a toilet paper roll and associated it with Cup (paper cup). But I was penalized because it was supposed to be matched with News (newspaper). Why weren't both considered correct? (There are other scenes in the game where an object matches both keywords, and the game recognizes this and adds the object to both keyword lists.) The problem with valid matches being penalized seemed to get worse toward the end of the game, to the point where the only way I could be assured of a good score was to replay the chapter until I'd memorized (or written down) what the correct answers were. That's no puzzle. That's rote memorization. I wouldn't even care about the score because I play games for fun, not because I want to be graded on my performance. But unless you want the bad ending, you need to worry about the score and replay scenes where your score isn't good enough. By the end of the game, the word matching had definitely become more frustrating than fun because I couldn't trust the game to recognize valid matches. Another problem I had was with the graphics quality. Some objects were just impossible to recognize. If you don't know what an object is, how can you hope to match it with anything? The story and most of the voice work were certainly above average, but they should have provided subtitles. There were times when I couldn't understand the speech even after replaying the cut scene several times. Illy's over-processed "ghostly" voice was almost impossible to understand and I probably only understood about 20% of what he said. I also wasn't entirely satisfied with the ending I got. It may have been the best ending, but it obviously left things open for a sequel. I don't think I'll replay this one on "Gamer" mode (the hardest). The story was interesting the first time around, but I'm not interested in sitting through it again -- especially with the hit-or-miss validity of word matches. Loved it. It was a little rough going. Wasn't always able to clearly distinguish the items in a scene and had some cursor trouble; but none of these played a big enough part to detract from the freshness of the game. The voice acting was amazing, and the story-line, while possibly offensive to some, was unique (something that is getting harder to come by). It was like watching a movie! The gritty graphics (while difficult to work with) was a nice change of the kid-friendly, cartoon-y, bubble-gum graphics that swamp the HO genre these days. I will say I stumbled over the word toggle lay-out. But in all, I enjoyed it and look forward to the sequel. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

The theme and storyline for this game give it a lot of potential, but there are more misses than hits. First, having to toggle between each connecting word is frustrating, when you are penalized for each wrong click. And second, and the deal breaker for me, is that the graphics are so horrible and substandard that you have to really struggle to figure out what each item is! In a hidden object game, the quality of graphics is everything. I've played a ton of them, and seriously, this one has the worst quality of graphics & resolution that I've seen yet, which is saying something. I won't be finishing it. Several problems with this game for me. First of all, I do not like games that use only sound with no printed words. I am not hearing impaired, but I always turn off the sound when playing because the repetitious noises and music get annoying very fast. Also this game did not work right on my computer. The action was jerky and the cursor action did not always work. When I realized that this was one of those infamous games where the only instruction was by spoken word, I had to hit the Escape key to get back to the main menu. I was interested in the game because the review said the game play was different that the usual HOG, but did not get a chance to get that far into the game. Too bad. This game is by no means perfect but I have to give them credit for bring a refreshing change to the ole HO genre. It really made you think! BUT if your english isn't 100%, this game is going to be tough! it was hard for me and my first language IS english! LOL I don't mind dark themes in my games personally, but I can see how it might offend some. I loved the voice-overs and sounds in the game, though, if they were going for creapy, the music could have been a little more so. It was a lot of watching and listening, think of this more as watching a movie and then interacting to continue the story. Speaking of story I LOVED IT! I was creaped out and wanted to know more. I would give 3.5, but because I can't, it gets a 4, because I said so! Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Very good game with some challenging mini-games. Video cut scenes were well done and voice acting was superior to other games out there. While some of the subject matter may offend, it is no worse that the stated violence (deaths and such not) in some of the newer HOGs lately. Looking forward to the sequel. Definitely don't like this game. If it were possible, I'd award it minus points. Indeed, the twist of the HOG genre is unique and interesting--adding more challenge to finding the HOs. However, I found way too much dialogue, a game inundated with vagueness and ambiguity. In lieu of it luring me to want to play the game, I was totally repulsed within the first 3-5 minutes. Then, thought to be fair I'd try at least 10 minutes--sorry, folks, could not last that long. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

The gameplay seemed fun enough but it ran so slow on my computer that I couldn't understand half of the dialog - and it's all voice, no text! grrr... I was also frustrated by it not recognizing all the word combinations I came up with. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

This one is painful to play. WAY too many story segments that you can't always skip. Seems sort of...self-indulgent. Hidden object art is not good and the wordplay is very tedious. Sorry, won't be buying this one. Seems like something that the people who made it were in love with, but that was never actually shown to "real" players! I think this game is really great! Very innovative and fresh. I loved the twist of finding items that match a word. The story line and characters are intriguing albeit dark, which is unusual, but you get sucked in easily as the story goes on. It gives you options of levels of difficulty, and different endings based on your choice of tarot cards you choose. Those posters who only play for awhile and give up should go back and play longer. It gets better as you play into the game. Also nice that you can play a chapter at a time. The puzzles and mini games are tough though. My only complaint is that the audio isn't clear at times, otherwise I would've given it a 5 star rating. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Have played out the demo, but am unsure whether to buy or if that was enough. I appreciate that they are trying to do something new and different with screen searches, but I am not sold that they have found the perfect alternative. I don't mind having to match up objects with words, but there are so MANY things you could call a window, for example: day, light, sun, glass, pane, etc etc. I thought a number of the objects I selected DID match the "key words" but must not have been what the designer had in mind, as I got the "WRONG GUESS" penalty. This needs to be sharpened up a bit before it is easily playable. Didn't mind the grim, downbeat tone of the story line (I find metaphysics quite interesting) and the hour I played, voice acting good. But TOO MUCH TALKING. "A" for effort but "C" for implementation of an original idea. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I love HO games and do like dark storyline games such as this. I had really thought it would be a game I would buy but after playing the 1 hour trial I was so disappointed. The game is good but with the long story it became boring. I will not buy this game after all. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I wanted to like this game. The twist on the HO game style is fun. I really like the chance to play at different levels in order to get more playability from the game. But the monotonous interruption of the dialogue and the boring mini games ruined it all for me. For the first 20-30 minutes I was eager to buy this game but after the whole trial I was disappointed and I will not buy it. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I love that this game gives us a new approach to the standard hidden object game. I really enjoyed searching through the objects on the screen and then referring back to the key words to see if they would be a good fit. I played in all three of the different difficulty levels. The Easy and Challenge levels have the same objects to find, but in the Challenge level you just have to find more than in the Easy level. The Gamer level, which is the most difficult, has different items to find. They don’t just add more items. The have given us mostly all new items to find. There are a few of the same items but for the most part it is just like a totally new game. This is GREAT for replay value because it is like getting three games in one. I also enjoyed the puzzles and mini-games. They came up with games that are fresh and fun but not too difficult. Just the right amount of challenge I think. Although this is a wonderful game and I love playing it, it seems like they didn't put the polishing touches on it. We can't play in windowed mode. They did give us a drop down box to pause and exit the game but it is nearly impossible to find as it is off the screen in the upper right corner. The game does not adapt to our screen resolutions. The developers should have at least suggested the best resolution settings in the game directions. We don't have the option to turn the music down and it is always louder that the dialogue. I was constantly adjusting the volume up to hear the dialogue then I would have to turn it down while searching for the items. I hope Big Finish Games will be able to work out these minor polishing details for their new game, 3 Cards to Dead Time, which is due out in the forth quarter of this year Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

Can you say "CREEPY"? But I LIKE "creepy"! I really liked the story and the use of Tarot cards as a symbolism on which to structure the game. The most innovative part of this game is the Hidden Object puzzles where the names of the objects to find are ALSO word puzzles. I only played through once on the Easy level (where you don't have to find ALL the objects); I don't know if I have the patience to play again on the harder levels and listen to the story again (although it IS a good story--with the right screenplay and director, this might be turned into a decent motion picture). Knowing that you can skip dialog by hitting the space bar would have been a useful thing for the developers to let the player know beforehand. The 3D animated scenes were OK, but I have seen it done better, where lip movements somehow approximated the dialog. Also, I was disappointed not to see the face behind the mask. THAT would have been very CREEPY, I'm sure. The walkthrough here on GZ is excellent help. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate

I know some people choose to skip the story to play the game, but in this case, the story is half the game. Skipping it means you miss out. The story can be skipped, though, by clicking spacebar. The minigames comes with a skip-button. PROS: Thrilling storyline, awesome graphics, good lenght, good ending, hard minigames. CONS: No options to adjust sound etc. Hard minigames. It is drawn out by the story. There are only certain sections you can skip the dialogue (voices). No "options" button for your choice of settings of the game like window mode, mute, tutorial or no tutorial etc. And you cannot change the easy/hard/challenging mode once your in the game. You have to start with a new identity and start all over again which I had to do but hated to do it 'cause I did not want to go thru the story again and tutorial. Though I did have an option, I forgot.. I turned my speakers off. ;) I love the gameplay. So very unique and fun!. I would love to keep playing but it takes a lot of my time just sitting there, waiting for her to stop remembering things and for the skip button to appear. If it wasn't for that which is to my belief is the story is the main thing and the game is just an added feature. 3 stars just for the gameplay. EDIT: yes, the story is eerie. That is why i wanted to skip the whole story thing but the HOG part i liked. Give this Review a Kudos Report as Inappropriate
