I know. It's a shame .... that is why i wanted to skip all the story parts and just go to the HOG part.. cause i really liked the HOG idea... that was the only interesting thing i liked.. but the story had to go.
EDIT: hopefully a game developer will use the that HOG game part in a different HOG game. So i can really enjoy it.

You're absolutely right Littleone... I skipped the story parts too because an HO game is an HO game and a story must be shorter then. The HO part is the most important part...

Thank you so much both of you, I was afraid I was the only one that objected. Now I know I am a mom that doesn't stand alone. Big hugs to you both! I would rather play a game where I am not forced to compromise what I know to be wrong, and make the excuse well its only a game. I would get furious if my kids said that to me. You both made my day a good day!

While I see everyones point about the pentagrams, I just gotta add that a pentagram is not necesarrily a bad thing, it all depends on weither it is used for good or evil, or however I should put it. Not that I'm into it either way, I'm just saying :)
If there is such a thing as real witches in the real world, and these are good people, they could be using the pentagram for the forces of good. And again, I am not into anything like this either way, I'm just saying.

Vimsen... I know.. just not into that kind of atmosphere... like to leave it all alone as much as possible, good or bad .. i like to have a clear aura so i do not have to spend all my worrying or being afraid ect.. so i just leave it be
i think i worded that right.. if not , hope people understand what i am trying to say..
like this game.. i just skip the story.. it was my option to and just wanted to play the HOG game the was included. But it was hard to skip the story and it was in front of my face., until i got the info from lizzie..

I saw a couple of the screenshots and that was enough to make me not want to buy it - lol! I love mystery games and suspense but don't want anything to do with satanism, pentagrams and zodiacs. I want the games I play to be fun and enjoyable, not creep me out. I probably AM a prude because I believe in what the Bible says about staying away from references such as these. It's a shame that casual game developers have to resort to including references to the devil in their games - like kids don't get enough of that these days through music and violent games. I agree with you 100% and I doubt they will miss my $$ but there are too many other fun, entertaining games out there to buy. I see enough evil on the news - my gaming time is to relax and have fun by taking my mind off the woes of the world. Glad you spoke up and I stand by what you said 100%.

Pentagrams is not all about satanism and evil, it can also be used for good.

Monnie, I agree with everything you wrote. We both know the truth about pentagrams and there is nothing good about it. I am not going to buy this game for more then one reason. I found the few minutes of playing it at the first scene boring! I un-installed it immediatly. Yikes, I don't want to attract those negative forces on my computer, I got enough concern keeping viruses, spyware, etc don't need to add that spooky occult stuff! What is a shame if anyone has played the Tex Murphy adventure games many years ago, these are the same guys that made those great games. There is talk about bringing the Tex Murphy games back again, and if they do I will want to buy it, as long as they leave stuff like what was in this game out of it. I love mystery, suspense, and I am a detective wanna be, give me a good Sherlock Holmes game,or Agatha Christie and I am a happy camper. Thanks for speaking up, if parents are reading this and wonder if 3 cards to midnight is appropriate for children, or teens its not in my opinion because of the occult content. Everyone has to make their own choice on that. One other thing, compared to other Hog Games, there is no animation, and the graphics to find are so tiny, I didn't even finish the first screen and I said thats it, I am outta here, and uninstalled. In my opinion it was all hype in advertising it for a year, and no content worthy of it. Now they need to get back to bring back Tex Murphy a game anyone can play and still call it fun.
I am new to sending Kudo's but now that I have learned just sent you one.

Here is what wikipedia says about the pentagram:
A pentagram represents dark or black magic in the eyes of a lot of christians, but originally it is a holy geometric sign that can be traced back to Ancient Greece, if not earlier.
Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient greece and Babylonia, and are used today as a symbol of faith by many Wiccans, akin to the use of the cross by Christians and the Star of David by Jews. The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, and it also has associations within Freemansonry.
Like I keep trying to say, there is not necessarily anything satanic or evil about it.

The definition of faith is "to believe without proof." So if your faith says that pentagrams or occult references are bad, you don't need proof. It is how you feel and I can respect that.
However, there have been a lot of scattered posts saying that developers should never again make a game like this. Some have even insulted the publishers for making this game. That worries me. There are many of us who have a different view of faith and don't mind these references. We feel that it makes for a fun, spooky story.
Also, where does it stop? So many games reference magic, fairies, ghosts etc. Some, like The Women's Murder Club and Redrum deal with very dark themes. The stories in both those games are terrific and many people enjoyed them.
In some ways, games are like books - you choose the ones that entertain you. If you don't find it entertaining, you don't buy it. But, like books, it is wrong to censor what others might want to play, read or enjoy.

ITA Monnie788. Storylines are important though and I enjoy the classic haunted setting. I like a nice stormy background and I LOVE both MCF: Ravenhearst for that very factor among other things. Even the Sleepy Hollow HOG. Unless a storyline grabs me though, I normally skip past them and play the game. Especially when you're trying to play as much of the game as you can before the trial runs out! lol

I agree about this game. The concept was really neat. It was like combining a word game with HO and it made it challenging in a different way. It was fun in that aspect. For me, I went past all the scenes furiously. I wanted to play the game, not hear that woman whine! lol I appreciate a good scary storyline. My mother loves true ghost stories and my whole family just appreciates a good scary movie or plot to anything, but we like doing so without being taken too far into the occult or whatever. All in all, the game had such a great concept, but that woman just got on my nerves so bad! lol I never even listened to her story, I just heard her voice as I waited for the skip button to activate. Seriously, I'd love to see this concept taken to a better level. It was a decent first attempt, let's just hope things improve later on down the road.

I'm curious as to why you DL'd the demo in the first place. It's about TAROT CARDS. Tarot cards by their very definition are occult. You cannot have a game about tarot cards without using occult symbolism. That being said, the occult is the bread and butter of the Adventure game genre, and that goes way back to games like Tex Murphy (made by the creators of 3 Cards) in the '90's.
There are plenty of games around for people who are threatened by occult symbolism and themes. No need to try to take these games away from people who enjoy them. In the future, I suggest you stick to games centering around ice cream, fashion, and food. Your delicate sensibilities will be safe then. Oh, but don't DL anything having to do with Egypt. They were the original occultists. ;)

Pentagrams are NOT a symbol for satan. The reverse pentagram is being used as a symbol for satan in the late 1900's. But in the christian history it is used as a sign of Jesus Christs five Stigmatas. In egyptian mythology it represents the underworld when surrounded by a circle. Anyway........don't play if you don't like pentagrams, just don't call them symbols for satan, when history tells us otherwise. You are just ignorant.
