Hi Levendig,
Did you DL and play it yet! If so, did you notice what country is missing in the find-the-difference puzzle?

Played 1st 4 scenes, and am in love! This is a really cool game in that it combines different HO searches and mini-games. Oh thank you for this game!!!!

Didn't like it at all. Hated the idea that there was a bomb threat. As if enough people aren't going to die anyway. Rubbish graphics. Deleted fast.

If you freeze at mini games:
I've found the solution: set the refresh rate of your screen at 60 Mhz.
Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply
To change the refresh rate: right click on the Desktop, click Properties, click the Settings tab -> Advanced -> the Monitor tab.
There you'll see the refresh rate.
Notice the value you see, then you can restore the setting after playing. -
same for me, hangs up freezes computer vista 64 at mini-games even tried to run as administrator and that didn't help

Hi everyone,
The forum for 1912: Titanic Mystery is now open. You can ask questions and talk about the game here.
1912: Titanic Mystery can be dowloaded at SpinTop.
Game Info:
Search for hidden objects in unique locations around the majestic ship, to discover hidden diary entries and other clues to reveal the bomb's location. Along the way you'll interact with different characters to learn little-known secrets of the original Titanic, and solve a century old mystery from that ill-fated voyage.

The graphics and sound are great in this game....objects not too hard to see and find. Mini games are of good variety, some are tough but not so hard that a person can't think them through. Hints are very adequate.
It does get a bit repedative toward the end of the game, revisiting various rooms to find a different list of objects and differant mini games. Length......its sure not short.

Nobody was going to die--this takes place in 2012, aboard Titanic II. However, I don't recommend it to adults, either. With its pop-up factoids, it does have some educational value, though, and it might be suitable for tweeners. The objects are far too easy to find, but, even though it can be played through in under three hours, it seems to go on FOREVER (as though they were trying to replicate the original sinking in real time) because the player is forced to go back to the same locations over and over and over again. I grew utterly weary of that.

I have a few comments about this game. There is ONLY one thing that I liked about it..you had a chance to collect extra hints if you needed them.
I had to skip some of the puzzles at first ,couldnt figure them out, but later on I figured out what to do.
MAINLY, I didnt care for it at all. It was repetetive and VERY LONG....I NEVER thought it was going to end.
It was very bland and uneventful...you just looked for objects and solved some puzzles. Nothing happened, and there was NOTHING else you had to do. Thats probably why it seemed sooo long.
I am anxious to hear what other people have to say

I guess you have to be a titanic fanatic to enjoy this game, as I enjoyed it tremendously. However, the story line seemed very familiar to me. Someone mentioned another game earlier, Hidden Mystery Titanic, I think. Maybe that is where I have read the storyline before. I've seen pictures of all the rooms in this game and they are done very well. I guess the adventure comes from wanting to know how the story ends.........not the true titanic story as we all know that, but the untrue backstory in the game.
This game is a true hidden objects game, not the kind that we have grown to like better........the ones where you collect objects that you have to use elsewhere. And the game is a good hidden objects game too.
But, all will have their own opinions on everything, as that is the way the world works........ain't it wonderful :)

Thoroughly disgusted! Have downloaded game twice. In the Lifeboat scene when you rearrange the picture, game continues to freeze and you're stuck there. Anyone else encounter this? Went to BFG and there's no "help" for this. Others have had problem with game freezing. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

purchased and just finished reviewing. while it's not the greatest HOG out there, it's certainly not the worst & i'm happy i purchased it. not perfect, but pretty decent game, over-all.
i actually only gave it 3 stars & THAT only because of the lame, political-correctness they used on some of their equally lame historical alterations. i didn't have a problem with them adding the bomb threat, or including some modern, non-1912 graphics (although they could have done a far-sight better), i had a problem with the Isaac Maryland & Elsa Young characters. obviously not enough to warrant NOT purchasing, but a noticable factor (noticable to me, anyway) that i felt i had to mention in my opinion & review.
most modern political correctness annoys the heck out of me; modern politial correctness inserted into a 1912 situation is just foolish. there can't be that many people who are so sensitive that they just have to have it, are there?
there never was an Isaac Maryland, and if there were, he'd most likely have been some sort of porter who wouldn't have conversed with 1st class passengers. AND, if he did speak in a "patois," he wouldn't have only used "de" for "the" with otherwise good & correct grammar.
there also never was an Elsa Young, and if there were, she'd most likely have been a nurse; she'd never have been a ship's doctor - neither 1912 society, nor any male patient of the era, would have allowed it.
so, i liked the game; i just had some issues with some of the developer's "alterations" of history...but that's just nit-picky me. LOL
i'm not having any game-play issues on my WinXP Home SP3 machine.

Hey CFD,
One thing to point out--while the diary entries are from the original Titanic that sailed in1912, the action in the game takes place in 2012 aboard the Titanic II, a replica created for the centennial. That's why the crew members are more PC. While you're right that Isaac Maryland and Elsa Young would not have performed their duties aboard the original in 1912, there's no reason to think that in 2012 they would be prohibited from doing so aboard the new Titanic II. So the only re-writing of history that takes place in the game is that which is presented in the future a couple of years from now.

well don't i look...uninformed. that's what i get for clicking "skip." i still have an issue with Isaac's dialog; maybe even a bigger one.
if it's set in 2012, WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY THINKING with the "patois?" do they live in a cave or have they only watched 1 movie (Gone With The Wind) in their entire lifetime?
if it actually WERE appropriate, they did a bad job of it. the last time i heard anyone who actually spoke in that sort of "patois" was a brief visit to Luverne, Alabama, about 25 years ago, and they certainly didn't use correct grammar AND that "patois."

Didn't really bother me. I guess I just assumed he was from Jamaica by his accent and affinity for rum drinks. Also enjoyed the apparent homage to Isaac Washington, the bartender from the Love Boat. Titanic's Isaac just seemed like the kind of bartender you might encounter on a cruise ship--happy go-lucky kind of fun guy. I also found the 1912 Titanic factoids to be very interesting and, I assume, historically accurate. Any disagreement there?

that's a valid point, Yeouch24, however the "patois" didn't translate as Jamaican/Carribean to me, or evoke "Isaac Washington" (i liked that show, too)...if that was what they were going for, i think they also got that wrong. i've seen written Jamaican/Carribean dialog before and got the point, immediately. this just 'sounded' like inappropriate racial stereotyping. someone in the BigFish forums also had an issue with flippant remarks about the lower-class passengers. all-in-all, i think the creator/designer should have avoided those attempts at what they probably considered "humor," in the dialog.
i can't speak to anything else because that opening "Isaac Maryland" dialog disturbed me too much to play any further. i'd actually enjoy playing the game, and would be interested in the Titanic factoids, if it weren't for the dialog i (and the other person, at the BigFish forum) found offensive. call me foolish, but i was actually disturbed enough to email BigFish about it. hopefully, they correct the dialog and make it ACTUALLY fun/humorous, where appropriate. maybe a little more research into what Jamaican/Carribean dialog should actually read like and get rid of the flippant, tacky "humor" about the lower-class passengers.

Has anyone a solution for the matchstick puzzle (moving 2 matchsticks and making 4 squares from 5 squares). Tried the solution in the walkthrough, dont think its correct as I dont get the "puzzle solved" message. Really enjoyed the game, have played it a few times now.
