I don't understand how Gamezebo could have given this game 4 stars, and hardly include ANY "cons" in their review. Finding hidden objects was awful in this game. The game would say something like "find the parts of the inductor" and show you sample images of 3 random pieces... but then you would be expected to know what goes into an "inductor"... ??!! They should just list out exactly what you need to find! Even the scenes that should've been easy (like finding food items) felt way too hard and random (how am I supposed to know to look for cheese, and the piece of cheese looks nothing like cheese when it's hidden!), and I kept having to use the hints. The hints were also weird because a hand would float out and just grab the item for you - you wouldn't even get a chance to see what it grabbed. It felt dumb because i would just end up clicking the hint button over and over! I also hated it when the entire screen went crazy because I clicked on too many random places - it was very jarring and annoying. I'd rather have the arrow freeze like they do for other hidden object games. I guess I'd give this game 1 star but found certain elements OK, like I was glad the objects had meaning, and I liked the little mini-games. It was the pure finding of the hidden objects that made this game awful for me. P.S. I find it very suspicious that this game got so many positive reviews in the beginning, but all these recent reviews are negative... I wonder if the makers of the game have been cheating the review system!!

I finished this game, but only because I am stubborn and like to finish what I start. I have no real complaints about it, except that it was somewhat boring. I like games where there's a real story and characters I can care about. In this one, I couldn't generate enough interest and had to keep coming back after playing other games, so as to keep the interest level high enough to get through it. I was also disappointed in the ending. I doubt if I'll be going through the next installment of the game.

I liked the concept of this game but thought it was poorly developed. Lots of items didn't fit into the category described. For instance, a teapot isn't an obvious travel item. A picture of a jumble of fantasy machine parts gives no clue to what you might be looking for. Worst of all is the dialogue between Sprill and whatever that ugly friend is supposed to be. The Skip button doesn't advance to the next page. Instead, it takes you directly to the game so you miss the story. The wait for the next sentence in the conversations was so long that I was ready to throw my mouse at the screen if Sprill nodded once more. By the end of one hour, I was so fed up that I didn't even consider buying the game.

I haven't enjoyed this game as much as I had hoped. The addition of voices for the characters would have been nice. So far I find the game monotonous and repetitive. Each scene leaves you find multiples of the same item. It would have been nice also to be able to use a hint on the mini-games when you got stuck instead of having to skip it altogether.

Fun game. Not timed so take your time and you will find all of the items. Some of the mini-games are rather frustrating, but again take your time. It is very tempting to just hit the "skip" button on the mini-games, but don't. Keep at the games and you will eventually figure them out.

I must say I was disappointed with this game. I had expected it to be better than the first one. It didn't come close to it. At times, I thought this was geared for a younger age group, especially putting the piggy bank together. I didn't care for the graphics or all the dialogue. A few of the mini puzzles were good. The overall game play got very dull. Somehow this game just fell short. In my opinion the first one is much better.

I didn't particularly like this game at all. The first Sprill was really good. This one seemed sluggish, locked up my computer twice, and was just a little too slow for my taste.

First, I have to give the developers tremendous credit for upgrading their original premise “Sprill: The Mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.” The latest installment is ambitious. Thankfully, they aimed for the stars and went beyond. I played the first version not too long ago because Alawar had it on sale and I was glad that I did. “Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time” may not have the hype that other hidden-object games do, but it’s not because it’s a lesser attempt. What makes the new game a HUGE improvement is the amount of unique search locations (33) and the ingenious mini-games. In the first “Sprill” game the locations repeated ad infinitum. That was tiring. But the new game doesn’t repeat any scenes which is a welcome change. For those that like a long hidden-object game, this one doesn’t disappoint. If you really try to work through the mini-games, then this one will last awhile. I’m also happy that you are free to skip the mini-games without penalty. And there’s no timer. That’s an added plus. One thing I like about this game is the lead character. I LOVE Sprill. He’s so cute. And now he’s got his friend Ritchie this time. The dialog between the two during the cut scenes is quite comical at times. This is one of the few hidden-object games that REALLY improved upon is predecessor with a vengeance. The only drawback perhaps is that you’re not searching for items on a list. It can be a tad vague like find all the “travel accessories, modern items, baked goods, antiques, sporting goods, clean up from the party.” You’re never given a list or exact pictures of items. And at times it did feel less like a hidden-object game and more like mechanical engineering like assembling the robot, generator, statue, pipes, inductor. The mini -games were a tad more technical at times. Not a bad thing. But I’m definitely looking forward to the third adventure.

Surprised by your 4-star review, because honestly, I have hardly no improvements - it's a brilliant game. I especially need to applaud the developers for the length and variety! A rare commodity, it seems, when looking at other HOGs, but Sprill is looooooong... and doesn't repeat levels. The mini games are great, and again there are so many! The characters are fun, and after a while, you are just waiting for what Sprill will break next - and which shards, pieces or whatever you need to collect and assemble afterwards. :) Basically, if you like a HOG with a twist and value for money, buy Sprill. You won't get lists of things to search for, but usually look for "anything modern", "anything antique", things Sprill broke, all candy, etc. Then there are mini games cleverly hidden in each scene, the hints reload quickly enough, the instructions are usually clear. Really, one of my favorites in a long time - and while voice acting might have been nice, it's not killing me... better than a HOG that wastes hours on lousy cut scenes.
