Escape from Frankenstein's Castle Review

Sep 4, 2010, 8:15pm

3.5

When you think of great places to go on vacation, chances are a spooky castle that’s home to a mad scientist is nowhere on the list. Unfortunately, after surviving a motorcycle accident, that’s exactly where Hannah finds herself. In Escape From Frankenstein’s Castle Hannah has to find her way out of the titular castle, while fighting with her lost memory and trying to find her missing fiance. The result is a solid blend of hidden object and adventure game that, while fun, is lacking much in the way of new ideas.

Lost in the City: Post Scriptum Review

Sep 3, 2010, 10:15am

3

I'm going to have to ask for some leeway on this one. The facts of the matter are simple enough: Lost in the City: Post Scriptum is a bog-standard hidden object game with mediocre graphics, simplistic gameplay and noticeably rough edges. Yet underneath all that, for those who care to dig, is a gripping story of love and loss, redemption and hope, set in a bizarre otherworld in which the fate of humanity rests not on its best, but simply its last.

It's fair to say that the visual novel genre is heavily entwined in the dating sim side of gaming, and this is no more true than in Sakura River's Fading Hearts. A lengthy story of magic and mystery is provided, coupled with several girls' heart that can be broken or adhered to.

Nancy Drew: Secrets Can Kill Review

Sep 2, 2010, 10:51am

3.5

After 22 games and over a decade, Her Interactive has decided to revisit the game that started it all. Nancy Drew: Secrets Can Kill Remastered is exactly what it sounds like: an updated version of the 1998 game of the same name. And in spite of its age, the game actually plays surprisingly well, and the new additions make it well worth a play for series veterans. However, Secrets Can Kill Remastered also reveals just how little the Nancy Drew games have changed over the years, as it plays almost identically to its numerous sequels.

Some people just seem to attract trouble. Take Alex and Lisa, a young couple who have stumbled from one mysterious island adventure (2008’s The Treasures of Mystery Island) to another. Drawn: Dark Flight Review

Aug 31, 2010, 1:11pm

5

With a tremendously magical atmosphere and gripping story, Drawn: The Painted Tower was one of the most polished and enjoyable puzzle adventure games we’ve played in a long time. It set the bar very high for the casual gaming world, and few other titles have come close to delivering such an enchanting experience. We’re pleased to report the highly anticipated sequel, Drawn: Dark Flight is every bit as spectacular as the first game…and then some.

Spa Mania 2 Review

Aug 31, 2010, 10:12am

3.5

Jade is back for a new spa experience with Spa Mania 2. In this sequel to Spa Mania, Jade’s former success is threatened by customer complaints in her spas, and it is up to the player to get to the bottom of those shady events. Spa Mania 2 isn't overly challenging or original, but it's entertaining and worth a download nevertheless.
