Yeah, as the title says, the game is available for purchase at Gamehouse - though I'm a bit confused, cause when I stopped my trial after 20 minutes, my profile was not there anymore when I restarted it :(
After playing for 10 minutes, the game crashed. When I restarted the game, I had to start over; profile not saved. It was a fun game. However, at Camero's house on hour 3, I kept forgetting to get all the conversations in on time ; so I was on hour 4 when the demo ended.
Hopefully it will be released at a portal where I have credit, so I can purchase this game.
I am FURIOUS! Finally a decent tm game comes along and Gamehouse has the audacity to release a game where your profile is not even saved! I tried several different combinations during my 1 hour trial, shutting the game down at different points, and when I loaded the game again, I had to start all over and the game did not save my user profile! This is extremely irresponsible to release a quality casual game at this day in age where the user profile is not even saved. The game will be on Real Arcade later but I am sure it will have the same problem. What a shame and a disappointment.
I forgot to check to see if it saved my profile again. But I'm with you guys! That a pretty bad rookie move from someone like Gamehouse. But then I don't think they pay to much attention to their testers, which is a shame.
Let's just hope they fix this sooner, rather than later.
Did anyone else have any crashes with the game so far? Usually if you find one so early in the game, later on there seems to be quite a few more. Wonder what else they overlooked before launching?
I know we all get a bit excited when a game fails to launch on time, but I for one, would rather have the date pushed back and have the bugs/glitches fixed than to have a mess like this.
As a quick reminder I work at Merscom, the publisher of Party Down. I wanted to thank everyone for their feedback thus far.
While we discovered the profile bug a few days before release and were able to solve the issue quickly, we weren’t able to get it to Real and Gamehouse before it went live. Both Real and Gamehouse do have the new build now though, and will be rolling it out shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience and frustration that this has caused.
Thanks again to everyone for their interest in Party Down. If anyone has further questions/comments though, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I am heading out to the city tonight, but knowing that you are also an avid time management fan, I am curious as to your impressions about the working version of this game when you get a chance to play it. Others feel free to respond as well..I will check this thread later tonight..
Bonuspoints, thanks for the quick response. It's great for us to get a bit of feedback from the developers too; we really appreciate it.
I see that Gamehouse has the link back up when I checked a few moments ago, but RealArcade does not have it up yet. (I actually never did see it on Real today.)
Carfixer, Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna go try the version at Reflexive now. Have a great nite out on the town!
Hey Don and everyone else who is interested in this game - this is definitely the best time management game I've been playing for a long, long time. Of course this is only a first impression, since I've only played about an hour, but I dont think that my impression will radically change in the later course of the game. A lot of new twists, fantastic graphics, a bit humor (which is always good), challenging, and a solid length.
