To Mariavoe4, you need to use the oil can from the suitcase on the stairs. You use the six bells to get the knife, with which you cut the man's ropes. you give him tea, and he will give you the keys to the suitcase. You take the oil can, pliers, and wrench and then use the oil can on the stairs (ladder). Hope that helps.

I got past the cell and am now in the tower and can't figure out how to get up the ladder to the hainz pack.
