Best HO Game?

What is the best HO game you have played? Need some ideas. I have played the MCFiles games. They are my favorite.

I really liked "Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos" which I have enjoyed replaying as well. I also liked the Mystery Case Files; that is how I got hooked on hidden object games. But having trouble with my computer accepting them. For instance, I can't get Madame Fate.. and the message is "out of range" on a blank screen. Can't get the first two MCFs that came out on new (mini mac) which played fine on my G3. Got any suggestions?

I think the Mystery Case Files are pretty much in a class by themselves in terms of humour, graphics clarity, interest...but there are a number of other good ones.

The Hidden Expedition series (icluding Amazon, Everest, and Titantic) are all good. The Lost Case of Sherlock Holmes was very enjoyable, with objects that fit into the storyline. (Note that this is not the same game as Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Persian Carpet, which I didn't enjoy as much). The Dream Day series (Dream Day Wedding, Honeymoon, etc) are pleasant, if simpler than some of the others. Very popular, though.

The Little Shop series is another popular, simple hidden object series. No real story to those, though.

The Clumsys is an interesting twist on Hidden Object games, very enjoyable, but ca be fairly complex--better saved until you have more experience with the genre.

I personally really liked the "ville" series: Pirateville, Mysteryville, Christmasville, but those do require searching for object by sihouette, and not everyone likes that style.

I also really enjoy the Forgotten Riddles series, but again it has a number of variations, and is aimed more at expert players.

Oh, and I almost forgot one of my all time favourites: Can You See What I see? Based on an old classic children's book, it's a bit like Where's Waldo in construction, but with beautifully done photographs. You search through things like bowls of beads or coins for the objects.

Gamezebo has reviews of all of these and more, if you're interested in learning more about them.

But if you like more complex hidden object games, then I would definitely recommend the Hidden Expedition series.

If you like ones where the objects fit into the story, I highly recommend The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes.

And if you just want a pleasant, straightforward hidden object series, either the Dream Day games or the Little Shop games are good.

Oh, and I agree, the Agatha Christe ones (Death on the Nile and Murder at End House) are both very good. Similar to the Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes in that the objects found have to do with the story.

I like your straightforwardness, gnashif :)
Yup, the best Hidden Object series ever is Mystery Case Files. Big Fish Games do the right things to make this series ALWAYS tops on charts and our "Casual-thermometers" too.
The sidekick is the Dream Day series, nothing brilliant but entertain (me) much.

Just chiming in with some of my own favorite HOGs.  Along with the MCF and Expedition games suggested, I would add that Serpent of Isis is a good one (some screens a bit on the dark side tho).  Also really like Artogon Games HOGs:  Mystery of the Crystal Portal - BIG favorite; also Treasure Seekers (both of them), and the new Flux Family Secrets.  If you like Flux, you would probably also like the Mortimer Beckett HOGs.  These last ones use searches for PARTS of objects, which some players don't like, but I did.  Happy gaming!
