At long last, a funny game ! I enjoyed the jokes and the imaginative ghosts. The scrolling scenes added a plus to the game. The story was quite good. A really cool HO game with a twist.

I enjoyed playing this game a lot. The graphics are also pretty good. It is a pretty basic and straight forward HOG with a few puzzles thrown in. The story line is fun and simple. The only bad part is I tried to play in window mode and the game disappeared. From the looks of the Big Fish Games forums a few other people have had the same problem. Once my game is fixed I can't wait to finish it because I do enjoy playing it.

I cannot understand why anyone enjoyed this game. It was the longest most tedious HOG I have ever played. The ghosts screaming at you for too many clicks was by far the most annoying sound in a game I've ever heard, and that is including the wrong click sound in the Big City Adventure saga. The hint system was too slow for the amount of objects in each room, finding the ghosts was for children, and the riddles, well they were just laughable. Did I mention that it was waaay tooo long! I am very very sorry I bought it.

I love this game! Awesome graphics very creative. More than just a HOG game. Keeps you on your toes and is very entertaining. A must have!!

The graphics are great in this game, and I love the large rooms where you have to move around the scene, gives me the sense that I am in a big mansion. The HOG is really well done, there are alot of objects to find and they are well hidden but not impossible to find. When I did end up using a hint it was because I was bored with the HO and wanted to move on. I thought using the optical lens to find and click on the ghosts was kind of silly, something little kids would find fun in looking for. I didn't buy this game because I have tons of games if I just want to spend endless hours searching for objects.

I absolutely loved this game. The storyline was really engrossing and well done, from the main storyline to the "mini bios" of the lesser ghosts. I especially loved the artwork and the rooms in the house. I enjoyed looking in the rooms and noticing things I hadn't the first time around. This was one HoG that made you want to stick around in the rooms instead of just find what you needed to and go. Loved the riddles and how some of the items you were finding went into the riddles. The length of the game was also really great, with no backtracking to make the game seem longer. Highly reccomended to any HoG lover.

Absolutely awesome! I even got my mom hooked on this game. I usually skip over Big Fish's Hidden Object category and head straight to adventure, but the genre of Mishap was misleading- in a good way. What first sparked my interest was the ghost theme. The cutscenes reminded me of a good Tim Burton movie, and the production quality was just as high. Creepy and cute, I fell in love with all the ghosts haunting the mansion. My appreciation for this game didn't stop at the theme or art, though. This was a hidden object game that was full of surprises for me. Each chapter ended in a different mini-game. If I didn't like it, I had the option to skip it, but I liked them all. There was everything from drawing games, to card games, to tower defense! This really added to the replay value for me. In addition, there were so many hidden object scenes. If I got stuck on one, I'd just move to another for a while and come back. In addition to this, I had been bummed that a lot of the HOAs I have played lately are beatable in about two hours. I was happy to see much more game time out of Mishap. Enjoyed every minute, earned every one of my five stars. :)

I am sorry to say I have to break away from the consensus on this one, however much I prefer to give a game 4 or 5 stars as I do most of the time. The reason is simple: I positively disliked everything Mishap has to offer, except the voice-over which is good and the cute little character with the white moustache. I found the music nerve-racking, the horrible green face that keeps popping up with a shriek on almost every misclick extremely irritating, the blurring of the screen utterly unnecessary and annoying, the artwork messy and distorted, the ghosts not funny at all and the storyline uninteresting. Moreover, as soon as I got to the bathroom, my cursor became so slow and jerky that I had difficulties controlling it. First time I have this problem ! Chasing the first three ghosts was not unpleasant, but I can hardly see myself going through that 8 times per chapter ! As to the first riddle...well, I have seen dozens that were a lot better and truly challenging ! I don't mind at all spooky games full of impressive ghosts when such games are good fun, but to me, Mishap is not one of them. After 32 minutes of complete boredom and aggravation, I uninstalled the trial version without the slightest shade of regret.

I purchased this game when it first came out and was reviewed on this site. Because of its long playing time it is a good value. Because of its long playing time it becomes tedious. Otherwise, great graphics et. al.
