I wish I'd looked at the reviews before I bothered playing the demo, but I didn't, so here goes. The graphics are downright ugly, very poorly drawn and out of focus (their idea of "challenge," I suppose). I just kept saying: "Ick! Can it get any uglier?" No, it doesn't get uglier; ugly is, as ugly does, LOL. The only things in focus were the characters, dialog (sometimes witty, but WAY too much of it) and the only minigame I played (standard complete the circuits; took me less than 60 seconds). All the objects are super small;some are downright strange. I have NEVER seen a "Coffee Creamer" that looked like the one they drew for the second scene. You'll definitely need a hint...speaking of which, the hint button wouldn't work for 3 clicks (had to use it for their "Coffee Creamer"). It wasn't recharging, and I hadn't used it yet, it just didn't work until it felt like it. What might have been an okay game failed miserably because of the graphics and poor overall execution. If you can get past the graphics, you might like it okay since the searches & minigames (assuming here, because I only played the first one) are actually very simple. I gave it 2 stars because it isn't the worst game I've ever played, just the ugliest. I wouldn't buy it on a bet.

I like the hardy boys, which probably makes me a little bias. I ended up playing the second hardy game, the Hidden Theft before this one. Which lead to my disappointed to find out it had no voice overs or an 'adventure' like appeal its successor had. I find this game amusing for its hardy boy premise and little beyond that keeps it truly entertaining. The 'dialogue' between characters isn't the best written stuff out there and its presentation in character interacting/conversation annoyed me a little (see: boxes scrolling up the screen with artwork-that-could-be-better). The objects you had to find weren't always easy to find, be it really small or (it's not THAT paint brush, its the little one, over there, the one that blends in with the background...) and identification was sometimes an issue. Overall, if you like the hardy boys, add it to your collection and take the game lightly or for fun. Its decently long, albeit repetitive at various points. Not something I would ever recommend to a die-hard HOG fan or someone who wants an all around 'good' game. Hardy boys or no, that's all I have to say.

Blurred scenes, same colour tones, out of proportions objects, too much dialogue...There is not one redeeming quality to that game! The worst I have played this year. Especially after the treats we had with some recent games (Dire Grove, Princess Isabella or Luxor...)I finished it because I can be incredibly stubborn sometimes :) But what a waste of time. Next !

The Hardy Boys...Perfect Crime has to be the worst game I've ever played. Graphics are blurry, items to find are very small and there is just too much wasted time with the text and no way to skip it. Boring and dull!!! I wish I could get my money back.......mistakenly I purchased it and sure do regret it!

Ish...I stuck this one out for 20 minutes, thinking it would surely improve, but no...boring, poorly produced, and way too much (dumb) "dialogue." I haven't read a Hardy Boys book in 40 years, but am certain they were better than the game.

Downloaded to play the 60 min. trial and was deleting it after 5 mins. Just like the other reviewers I'm a big fan of HO games, but not this one.

Like some of the reviewers, I am very disappointed in this game. I thought it was going to be a game of the boys solving mysteries and crimes, like they did in the books I read as a kid. I didn't realize thre would be so many HOs The dialog boxes are annoying. You can't click on any objects while there is dialog. There should be an option to skip the dialog, because to me, there was too much of it. I could not figure out how the hint system worked. When I clicked on "Hint" nothing happened I didn't get a hint. No sparkles or arrows or anything!!. Either the hints were really fast or small Very frustrating. I definitely will not buy this game. It needs to be reworked. I hope it gets reworked before any of the other game sites put it out. Otherwise, this is going to be a huge loss for Artogon Games. They won't make much money on it with the way it is now.

I wish I could rate this less than 1 star. I absolutely agree with Meryl's review. I sympathize with his having to play for more than the 10 minutes that I played it. And finally I applaud him and all the other users who are trying to warn us gamers not to waste our money.

I only gave this game a 2 because I like HO games, that was the only plus in this game...The objects were way out of proportion and thus hard to find and not always labeled correctly, they also seemed to like to hide objects in really dark areas where without a hint you were never going to find them..I would have never made it through this game without Margie's walkthrough..Don't bother to buy it like I did!!!!!
