I beta-tested this game, I played for the total of the 90 minutes given, but I could find absolutely nothing new compared to the other two FF games. At least FF2 had gags attached, with this one it's like they went back to FF1. Of course I have not tested the final release, but if they have not added anything new, I might as well go back to playing the first one.
Hey, I haven't tested the game or anything, but could you (or anyone else ) explain what you meant by there's nothing new? Like no new buildings or animals or just the same concept? The game info said something about traveling to different countries, so does the farm even look different? Are the goals the same? I don't like downloading from alawar (they always include a lot of excess stuff) and I don't want to get excited about nothing, so I thought I'd save myself a little time and anxiety and just get some more info! Thanks in advance to anyone with information!
Well as far as I got in the beta (I play for 90 minutes), the farm looked the same, the animals, the buildings, goals... So if this one has nothing new/different added to it, save yourself some money and play FF1 instead. Or the second one, at least there they added gags. I did mention this when I submitted the feedback, so for all I know they may have added new things in the final release, but I don't wanna bother to download from Alawar if it's the same as when I betatested it. In the beta it was the same concept as before.
This version has dough and a curd factory for one, I think maybe that's new, but it's not new anyways if you get my meaning. Graphics are the very same as in FF2.
Thank you so much for the clarification! Its a real shame if they didn't make any other additions besides a few new buildings. I'll just wait for it to be released on BF if I decide to buy it. I totally agree with you, there's no sense in downloading the same game.
I just meant the game manager stuff. I share my computer and new additions (like links to the site and game managers) are often met with complaints so to save myself a little time and frustration I try to avoid downloading games from anywhere but SW and BF (I have memberships with both of them and only BF has a game manager). And I pretty much swore off directly dealing with alawar after purchasing a game and never receiving the activation code or getting any help from their customer service.
I, also, beta tested this game but didn't get far enough into it to find anything new. It looked to be the same at least in the first 10 or 12 levels as FF2. I'll look forward to hearing from you guys what's new about this "new" game.
I bought the game and it is definitely worth it. Yes it it not a true sequel and has a lot of similarities to farm Frenzy 2, but the game is definitely worh it. New challenges, 90 levels, making pizzas and a Goat for an animal:)
Although this game is similar to the first two, I liked it better than FF2. It's more complex than FF1, with the plane to go into town and the recipes involve more ingredients, but it doesn't have the awful feature in FF2 where you had to keep switching buildings, which I couldn't stand.
I played the trial for the full 90 minutes and will probably buy it when BFG has it out, although I'd gladly return FF2 if I could.
The review here made it sound like this is the first time both the plane and truck were upgradeable, but that was true in FF2 as well. The biggest difference in FF3 is that the plane finally moves faster than the truck - finally!
The pizza aspect is fun but it can also be incredibly confusing. I ended up writing down what went into each type of pizza so that I would know what I had to save in order to make the pizza once I was able to buy the pizza building.
The biggest disappointment for me (and this may have changed since beta) was that there was no huge final level like there was in FF1 and FF2. Both of those had a final level that would take about 45 min. There was no such level in the beta of FF3. I now have the final release and if they've added something, I'll post an update.
