 You have to re-assemble the scarecrow so the bird wont eat the seeds you are trying to plant.

Did you check the walktrough? You have to re-build the scarecrow to prevent it I think... the walktrough has pictures of where you find the items needed if you have not already found them.

Lynnes5, if you come to the same spot in the game and get stuck again that means that you haven't completely rebuilt your scarecrow.  It is usually the hat that is missing and it is located on the right of the scarecrow, across the little path in the grass.  Once he is completely rebuilt the crow won't eat your seeds anymore.  Good Luck.
