I found a bug in the program, which makes getting through the game MUCH easier.  It's a way to earn unlimitted money.  Halfway through level 2, I had every upgrade in the game.  It really is complete and utter cheating, and could take some fun out of the game, so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll divulge the information.

Well, here's the deal.  Find a level that you can get through, making about $500 or more.  When you get to the last person you are serving, click on the menu button and click quit.  It will ask if you want to save the game, and click yes.  Pick a location to save, and exit.  When you continue the game you will be on the same level, but have the money you earned up to when you quit.  Its tedious, but makes it easier to get your stuff upgraded.  I tried the game again, and I had to do this at least once or twice.  Some levels just seem impossible without some of the upgrades.  I can almost make it through by upgrading the toppers first, because they add a little money to the sale, but if you just want to beat the game using the above technique makes it a lot easier.

Wow...what an awesome tip.  THANKS!!  I have tried re-starting the game several times - each time starting in a new location to see what would happen on various levels.  I always get stuck for that very reason - not enough money on that particular level.  Sugar rushes, upgrades, etc... didn't matter - couldn't get through it.  So THANKS!  I will try later tonight and let you know how it went!

I've tried it several times and it didn't work.  I waited till the last customer came in and clicked quit, saved the game, and still only the same money I had before I played the level.  What am I doing wrong?

Well, bad news.  It appears as though they may have fixed the bug.  I just downloaded, and the version I have is 1.004.  My other laptop has version 1.001a, and it works on that laptop.  The one I just downloaded doesn't work, so I guess they fixed the bug in recent releases.  :(

Well, thanks so much anyway.  I'm bummed, because there are a couple of levels no matter how I've varied starting the game, which world, which upgrades, etc, that I just cannot seem to get through and so now it's not so much fun and is quite frustrating.  Oh well...I'll keep trying.  Thanks again!

Hey, does anyone know how I can still get version 1.001a of Cake Mania 3?  I would LOVE to try it because of the tips.  Thanks.
