I exited the game just before the Paris National Library scene, in fact a couple of minutes before the end of my 1 hour trial. Having no intent to buy the game anyway, I checked the walkthrough to see how far I had got to and what the rest was like. I had completed the first half of this treasure hunt. Surprised right from the start not to see any puzzles or minigames, I was even more surprised to find out the second half didn't have any either. All this game is about is finding HOs. Saying they are all placed in locations with which they bear no relation or where they would never be expected to be seen would be a lie. Some don't, but quite a few DO ! Like the Giraffe and the Sailboat in the Pantheon, or 2 Anvils at the entrance of a Paris Metro Station...a UFO in the Empire State Building. Hilarious ! Ridiculous ! But what else is to be expected from a hardly average HOG ? And below average it is, except for the graphics which are good. The absence of puzzles could have been compensated by outstanding, well thought-out, cunning actions. No, they're all similar to those used time and again in too many other similar unfortunate ventures. Riddles are equally average and even far-fetched. Let's accept that 1812, which is a date, can be interpreted as 18:12 = 6.12 pm. But what about "When carved I bear a stunning K9 resemblance" ? The K9 resembles the bust of... Anubis ? uuuuuh ? I wasn't too appreciative of the fact you have to guess you must find a Geocache Item, which is listed nowhere, in order to get a riddle needed for progression. I was lucky enough to get the first one quite by accident ! The plotline left me poker-faced, the heroine's dubious and unlawful behavior totally indifferent. Yet, it was fun clearing out a few things with a brush. Hardly enough to justify a purchase, or is it ?
