Must have ESP LOL.
Just went for breakfast and mentioned how I got mine.
I do alot of canning in summer and I used to send friends homemade Apple Butter and it was a great hit with everyone.
So they got together and nicknamed me GrammyApples.
We do have distinct accents in Maine so it was called Grammy's Famous Apple "Buttuh"..lol

hey margie b,
This is truly a great thread. I got mine because a friend once told be that my complexion was the color of buttermilk, so I guess it kind of stuck. Although I'm not sure if I was to take it as a compliment or not.

As lazy as you Margie! Took my real name (my English mom gave me a French version of the name and I ended up living in France. She must be psychic!)because I am starting to get confused in the end with all my aliases on other sites! Good memory as far as HO games are concerned but not with numbers and log on!

When I first started going online, way back in the days of Q-Link (1987), my favorite comic book character was Rahne of the New Mutants. The name Rahne was already taking so I starting using Rayhne. Been using it ever since. If you see a Rayhne anywhere, there's a good chance it's me.

Like Margie, mine is boring. My first name and last initial! There are sooooo many Lindas in the world, I actually had 3 of them in my class is high school, and I worked with another when I worked in a bank quite a few yrs ago!! Both my maiden and married last names, are fairly common, so I found that there are also a few Lindas with both the same last names! Sign everything with my middle initial, as well!!! Booooring. LOLLindaB

Great idea MargieB. Interesting about the screennames. I had to think long and hard for mine. :)) My first name and initial of my last name. Sooo boring.(No offense to you MargieB) Some of the names are so clever and really thought out.

Mine is fairly simple. I was born and raised in Alaska (you guessed it, 1967). I moved away about 13 years ago and even though I live close to the big city in Wisconsin, I'm still a small town Alaskan girl at heart.
Alaska is a very transitional state. There are more people that live there that are from somewhere else, then people who were born and raised there. I miss it very much.

Hi!MargieB, so glad you are back!!! Please refer to the Breakfast thread for your lecture on disappearing like that!!! :)Since I work in retail and I wear a nametag, I thought it would be a good idea to have an alias, just in case my mouth got me into trouble. Like that would ever happen, right? Hee.Usually me and my co-worker(and close friend or aka Puddin')are laughing and trying to just make work as fun as possible. Thus, Bubbles was created!!! My username are my initials combined with Bubbles. Tah Dah!!! Bye- Tracey (Bubbles :))

Mine's boring too, first initial and last name. Because of all the sites I go to for everything I tried to keep it the same. Lately I've changed it on a few game forums to Kerikaz (first name, last init, state), but don't think I can change it here (can I?)Keri

Xenogamer55. I am a former hard core gamer whose favorite games were the Xenosaga series. The 55 is my age. Also, xeno is a prefix meaning 'strange'. In the hard core world, being a 55-year-old gamer is pretty strange. What makes it worse is I'm a woman! Thus xenogamer. Strange gamer.

Mine is a childhood nickname(that I hated by the way!!) but I have learned to live with it, my cousins that are the same age as me, still call me Suzy so it stuck, It makes me seem kind of childish sometimes, but who's not a kid inside

anyway!, the numbers are random from when I signed up on POGO. -
I wanted an Irish name for the second cat we adopted and since Kelly is my last name I decided Murphy would be a good name. So in reality I have my cats name for a user name.

These are some great answers, it's very interesting to see where everyone got their name from. Keep them coming!

Love reading all these, and especially interested to see how many took their names from their cats (having 6 cats myself). I am from Texas, and Kat is my nickname, so...TexasKat!

Well from my many posts you know I have a farm and so did
"Old McDonald had a farm EIEIO". So there you have it. I may not be McDonald but I am old, in age only. Still trying to figure out who that elderly lady is that looks at me in the mirror. Physically I feel in my thirties.EIEIO

Screen Name- How did you come up with it and what does it mean?
Report as InappropriatePosted on 06/26/08, 06:43am
I got this idea from a topic that was started at Playfirst a long time ago. This morning when I saw Grammyapples explain how she got her name it reminded me of it.
I'm sure some people have some screen names that make sense right away and others that don't. Mine is quite boring, it's just a shortened version of my first name and the first initial of my last name. The reason I added the "B" was because on the old Gamezebo site I noticed someone that posted as Margie and I wanted to add something to it that would distinguish me from them, so there you have it.
I would like to hear from the rest of you on how you got your name.
Thanks, Margie B Send a Kudo Post a reply Quote & Reply
