Hi everyone!!
I am glad you all like the idea of a History lesson. It will be interesting to see what we learn again. lol
Ashie, When we lived in NM we used to go to a lake that was between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. On the way Indians had stands and sold food. One stand had Indian Fry Bread. It was sooo good!!!! We would put butter and honey on them. We had to sit and eat them until we were done. My mom wouldn't let us in the car until we somewhat cleaned out hands off...no honey on them. That was one of the besst part of the trip!! lol One of these days I am going to try making them. I don't like working with yeast. It scares me!!! LOL
Dragon I love Pickled Herring!! We used to have it every year on the night before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve....family tradition. I like it with onions too. It's also good with sour cream. I generally eat it without sour cream though. We always had it without sour cream. I can get it fresh here.

Hi Everyone, It looks like some have been doing reverse rain dances. LOL
Oh Elephant ears are the best. They are so tasty, not exactly low fat and low sugar but worth the indulgence at least once a year. I think I will pass on the eel, pickled herring and what was that? Beaver tails? Are beaver tails like elephant ears? LOL
Hope everyone has been enjoying the day. I have been traveling in ME2, almost done I think.

Heellllooooo....Is anybody heerree!!
Ashie, Yes it was at the Bytown Market, in Ottawa, that I tried them!! Mine had chocolate (of course) and pieces of skor bar and I'm not sure what else, on it!! Very Yummmy!!!
Wanda, do you still have your life vest on??? lOL Not sure about ketchup on Beaver Tails, though.....yuckky yuckky!! LOL
Levendig, still not sure about the eels, but I would try it, if I had the chance. The funny thing is that we spent about 10 days in Japan, a couple of years ago and even though hubby wanted to try sushi, we never got around to it!!! LOl Did try all kinds of different foods, though that were really good!!
I'm going to check out a few things and be back in a bit.
EDIT: Hi Scooter, I just found this site that explains about Beaver Tails!! Enjoy!

Thanks Linda, they look similar to our elephant ears only smaller. I just love elephant ears and these look like they would be wonderful. They sprinkle cinnomon and sugar on the elephant ears. They are bigger around than a large dinner plate. Takes two hands to pack them around. LOL I'de like to have one of those beaver tails now, would make a great dessert!

Yes, I would like to have one, now, too!! The one I had I had to share with my daughter and sit at an outside table, that was on a very busy corner!! LOL I would like to try one again and savor it!!! LLC
I have never heard of Elephant Ears, but they sound pretty good too!
EDIT: Well I think I'll go and play MH2 before bedtime!! I will see you all in the morning!!
Sweet Dreams and Plenty of Giant Chocolate Covered Bug Hugs to All!

Hubby and I split one the last time were were at the fair. It was when we saw Chicago last year. There was a line a mile long waiting for the elephant ears. LOL

Grannyo, they are super good when they are hot, right out of the deep fryer. All that melted sugar and cinnamon, so yummy. I might have to go to the fair this year just to have one. LOL I will get you one and send it, you will have to reheat it tho. LOL They are good cold tho too, like them warm better. Did I say I liked elephant ears? LLC

Linda, the date sound good to me! LOL It is so hot her today, this computer room holds the heat I think. The AC doesn't reach here. I will have to buy one for the kitchen and maybe it will reach then.
Good night Grannyo, sweet dreams!

We don't have an air conditioner at all!!!! Or maybe we do!! LOL It's one of those window ones, that is still in the box, because we haven't figured out how to mount it in our windows!!! LOL they are side opening instead of up and down!!! LLC Works really well!!! hehehe
EDIT: Well, Scooter, it's almost 11:30 here, so time to call it a night soon!! I will see you in the morning!!
Sweet Dreams to you and Chocolate Covered Bug Hugs to All!! Hehehe

On most window mounted AC units the sliders that go beside the AC in a up and down window, will reverse and you can use it above your AC in the side ways opening windows. I guess it would depend on how tall your window is that you are putting it in but the accordian out. We have one in the dining room window and one in the master bath window. I need one for the eating area in the kitchen.
EDIT: I'm heading out to. Sweet dreams, hugs and see you in the morning.

Hope everyone is having a good evening.
Granny!! I knew you would reply and that you know how good it is. LOL
You have a good evening too!!
EDIT
Linda I had a neighbor who had an AC. Our windows are side opening too. She put a shelf up outside the window and put the AC on that and just had her window wide open....no screens. She lived on the 2nd floor/level so no one could break in very easily. I am sure it would still work with even a screen. I didn't know her at the time so I don't know how it worked out. You might want to consider that.

The Indian fry bread sounds as though it's on the same idea, Woofie. I haven't even seen herring since I left NY

Hi Granny!
Chocolate on BeaverTails-it couldn't get any better than that, Linda!
If elephant ears taste as good as they look, I'm in for one of hose too, Scooter. I'm glad I got my muu-muu in a size Large!
Keep nice and cool-and sleep well everyone who's going beddy-bye

LLC! I don't, Wanda! Maybe Littleone had a chance to have that chat with the weather man and he used his influence.
Sleep well, Origami and Levendig. Eel and ketchup? I might have to try that. Someday.
