Hello Family and Friends,
I am sad to say that my time here is almost over. I have decided to take a position working for Big Fish Games. My last official day with GameZebo will be Friday, the 17th of April.
I know some of you will miss me and I can tell you that I will miss you too. Even though I had to make some tough decisions, just know that I always tried to do what was best for the website. Our goal here is to provide you with the best experience possible. Sometimes that meant having to be a little tough but I think in the long run, it made this place a safe and enjoyable home for all.
I do not wish to go into details of what I will be doing at Big Fish, just know that I still plan to participate in the forums and stop by as much as I can. I just have to retire my ticket giving days and I will hand my ticket book (or should I say warehouse storage full of tickets) to the next Community Manager.
If anyone wants to volunteer to take some tickets......don't all run at once, there are enough tickets for anyone that asks LOL.......Please enter your name on a post below and I will be happy to give out tickets in Non-Fashionable colors. We have a lovely array of Pepto-Bismol color tickets that are on special :) Who knows, they may turn out the collector's items one day :)
The next Community Manager has not been named as of this moment. Joel and Erin are trying to make the best decision for the website and a new moderator will be announced soon. In the meantime Erin and Joel will be watching over all of you. I did not give them my Purple Peepers but they have a weapon of their own to watch over all of you :)
I would like to take this time and thank Joel for all that he has done for me. He has made my stay here an enjoyable one. I want to impress upon everyone that my leaving is not a reflection on Joel, a nicer person you couldn't ask for. Joel has always done everything in his power to grant me bigger opportunities and to make sure that I was always happy here. Most employers want to keep you in one spot all the time, Joel likes to help people grow. The best thing about him is his kindness. I told his mother one day, that she had raised a wonderful human being. I've learned so much from him and it saddens me deeply to leave. This was not a decision that came lightly.
I also want to talk about Erin. I remember dealing with Erin for the first time when Joel went on vacation and he left her in charge. It was at the same time that Azada was released and I was trying to write my second strategy guide ever, all the while answering questions in this forum. I remember being so impressed with the way Erin handled the site while Joel was away. I was so impressed with her hard work and dedication to the site that it was not a surprise to me when shortly after, Joel named her the editor. Working with Erin has been a great experience and one I will never forget. She's kind and fair and can say the funniest things with just a line or two. I think the whole Gamezebo community is a better place because she's in it. I will miss her deeply as well.
Last but not least, I want to thank all the people of the community. It has been so much fun working here. I love chasing you guys around and giving you tickets :) I love visiting the Breakfast Club and reading what everyone has to say. Doing contests was always a blast, between the players and the cheerleaders there was never a dull moment.
Even though I will no longer work here, I do hope that you guys will be as kind to the next Community Manager as you've been to me. I love you all and I wish the best for everyone.
Lots of Purple Bug Hugs for Everyone!
Margie B

Just know you will be missed terribly, maybe not the ticket part LLC. I'm glad you will continue to be part of our family. Best of luck to you. -
Margie, I wish you all the success in the world with your new career. I will miss you purple bunches!
Thank you for your kindness and friendship. Thanks again for all the things you have taught me over time. I love you and will always keep you in my heart. I will never forget your purple hugs. It is good that you will still check in on BK from time to time. I will look forward to your purple hugs then. Now, can we talk about turning over all those tickets in the warehouse to a new moderator?

Hugs and more hugs,
Scooter

Margie, I am sad to hear that you will be leaving us, however, wish you all the best in your new endeavour. You are truly a wonderful and funny person. You have handled all our antics and adventures with a firm professional (with a bit of humour) manner and at the same time allow us to have fun, and at times alittle crazy.
I can't wait to see if you can load an animated avatar and what you will be!!! LOL

Gamezebo Announcement: MargieB is leaving as Community Manager...The Purple Eye Blinks.

I want to share with you the news that MargieB is leaving Gamezebo as community manager.
It is with great sadness and happiness that I make this announcement. Sadness because MargieB is part of the Gamezebo family and it’s hard for me to see her go. Happiness because MargieB is going to work for a company (she’s going to Big Fish Games) that has she dreamed about working for and I share her joy.
My working and partnership philosophy has always been to help people that work with me in their personal and career goals, so for this reason, I am happy for MargieB.
I met Margie the exact same way that I have met every one of you, on Gamezebo. I noticed Margie coming to the site a lot and providing users with helpful hints and kind words. Her hints were good. So, one day, I emailed her and asked if she would like to do Tips for a game that was coming out, Dreams Chronicles (the first one). A few days later, she came back with a strategy guide that was 10 pages longer than I ever could have expected. I immediately started to assign her new games to write about.
When we launched the forums, I offered her the position of community manager. Part mother, part spam killer, always a best friend, Margie has excelled in this position and helped to create Gamezebo into a home for casual gamers on the Internet.
Margie is leaving on April 17 and officially no longer be our community manager. She will, however, remain a regular member on Gamezebo, joining us for breakfast, offering her occasional wise words and advice, and being … MargieB. Her balloon will no longer be beige but I expect to see her balloon everyday on Gamezebo, since she is and shall remain always part of the Gamezebo family.
Who will be the next MargieB? That, my friends, is a momentous decision. So big, that I’m going to spend ever frequent flyer mile I have ever accumulated and take the next two weeks off on vacation to France and Morocco to ponder this all important question.
I have enacted the following steps that will happen while I am away:
- We will continue to create and add awesome strategy guides every moment of every waking hour to help you play our games and continue to offer them to you for free. You spend your hard earned money on casual games. The least we can do is provide you with the best free strategy guides to help you play. We'll also continue to post honest and critical reviews of games as well as previews of what's coming out next.
- Erin, our excellent editor at Gamezebo, and myself, will be online a lot more in the community to ensure that the great friendly environment we have created at Gamezebo will continue to grow and prosper. And, though not official, I do believe the Purple Eye will still be lurking…watching.
- We are adding a much improved anti-spam and language filter (knock on wood) this week. It’s being tested as we speak. We’re also working on adding a top feature to the forums you have asked for in the next coming weeks. We’re also going to add our official Community Policies publicly to the Web site as well so you will always know the rules of do’s and don’t on the Web site.
- Part of what makes Gamezebo great people helping other people out on the Web site. It’s the first thing I noticed about MargieB and the first thing I notice with anyone new who comes to the site. Whenever someone helps you with a question, please send Kudos to thank that person. When we notice someone being extra special, Erin and I will start to randomly thank you as well and give you a coupon for a free game. I’ll do this from my vacation and Erin has a huge list of free coupon codes to give away.
I would like to thank MargieB for all her hard work and wish her best of luck. And with that, MargieB will write her official words here and I encourage you to write back to her to give her your best wishes, thoughts, and kudos. Please keep all discussion about this official announcement within this forum topic only.
Also, do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions, comments, or a strange desire to write insanely huge strategy guides for us in the future or contribute to Gamezebo in any other way.
Thanks,
Joel
PS, please do not discuss MargieB’s new position at her new company in the forums. That’s the awkward part of the message
