I love playing time management games in timed mode. However, players should be clearly given a relaxed mode option. This would probably increase sales of the game. (I have suggested this idea to game developers in the past few months.)

Yes!!! I would like to be able to switch to the relaxed mode during the game play if possible, and not have to start back at the beginning. I am stuck in a TM game with only about 4 levels to go - and I would love to be able to change to relaxed mode just to finish the game.

I'll be the first to admit TM games are not my favourite, but isn't having a relaxed mode kind of defeating the purpose of time management? Unless you mean a "slow down" mode where you would go 10-20% ratios slower? Not having a "deadline" to beat would, to me, take the "excitement" (not sure if that's the right word) out of the game.
If there was "slow down" mode, I may look into them more, but as my every day job involves lots of time management, still not sure I want to spend my casual time playing those games.

No. I do not play TM games, but I do think the whole point is that they ARE timed.

YES.
If there's a way to add a no-timer OPTION to any game, please do so. Most timers really get on my nerves.
Note that I don't usually play TM games, but I loved Wonderburg (with no timer option).

Yes! Sometime TM games become a little to hectic for me. I don't move as fast as I used to...LOL!

This is a very interesting thread, I hope some developers are taking notice.
I wonder why there are not as many TM games out there without the timer? I get that timer is a key to the game design, but why not offer the relaxed mode option?
It's funny, it's my site, but I never have thought of this. Good topic.
Thanks
Joel

I kinda know of one TM game that has a casual mode in it is "Farm Mania". There you have a goal but you can take your time and build up your money account to buy upgrades before you achieve that goal. The only timed part in the casual mode is the hunt for the lost animals.
I quess that is why that is one of my favorite game. It has both modes.

Yes.
I only buy games with both options these days. Sometimes I have days where I am called to the phone or someone asks me a question and it goes longer than expected. Lots of reasons for wanting the relaxed mode.
Why does it matter what another customer plays? TM for those who enjoy that, and relaxed for those who like that. The purpose is that each is happy with the game. Don't you think?

yes, definitely for me. Having both options is great because you can play the game in relaxed mode and then replay in timed mode and it would be nice if you could do this in the middle of the game and not have to start over at the beginning.
