More and more we are seeing interactive adventure type hidden object games.  We often find an item in one location and need to use it in another location.  It can be confusing and sometimes frustrating when we loose our way.  Sometimes we can come across an area where we need, for example, a coin to activate a mini-game.  If we don’t already have a coin and haven’t run across on yet we can continue to search.  If we want a little help with our search we can check out the trusty walkthrough.  But finding a coin in a walkthrough can be almost as hard as finding it in the game.

Here is a handy tip for searching for an item reference or answer in a walkthrough.  Go to the beginning of the walkthrough and then hit the Control key and the F key on your keyboard at the same time.  This will bring up a FIND word search box.  Type in the word you are looking for and click on the NEXT button.  You can check out the spot you have found and if its not the right place just click on NEXT again and the search will find the next reference to that word in the walkthrough.  You can also click on the PREVIOUS button to go back to a reference.

This is especially handy in the fragmented searching games like Hide and Secret 3, Princess Isabella or Mortimer Beckett.  For example, if you are playing Hide and Secret 3 and you need a Lit Torch but you only have an Unlit Torch and you’re going around in circles trying to find out how to get the Lit Torch, you can search for it in the walkthrough without having to read the whole walkthrough.  Just put the words “torch” or “unlit torch” or “lit torch” in the FIND search box and you can go to each place it is mentioned in the walkthrough.  You can see where to find it and where to use it.  If you are near the beginning of the game and you see that you don’t get the item you are looking for until near the end of the game, you can have a little peace of mind that you haven’t missed it.

This is just a little short cut that may save you some time and make the sometimes frustrating games a little less stressful and more FUN.

    Happy gaming!
