When you make a mistake writing a review, (such as exceeding 500 characters) it doesn't tell you anything. It just says Done with Errors on Page, and deletes the review you wrote if you just hit the Submit Button for the rating *Why are there two buttons btw...confusing*...it's not til you go back to Home Page and are logged in that you get a message that says Summary- Message exceeds limit, or something to that effect...and as I'm not a mind reader, I didn't get that it was pertaining to my review either...the error message should appear on the review page that you are typing...otherwise, you're left to just sit there hitting the submit button over and over cuz you can't figure out whats going on... that would be YOU, not me...cuz I'm not admitting that I just did that! Can someone explain or fix this please??? Or is it my computer? Or did we miss this fact during the beta? -

If your review is 500 characters or under (note to Joel: it's 500, not 600, at least as of today's settings, 501 gets the error), then it goes through fine with just the original submit button.

As soon as your review goes over 500 characters, instead of an error you get a form box page that has your ratings with a submit button and your too-long review with a second submit button.
.However, as far as I can tell, once you get the form box page, you're toast. There's nothing you can do to fix it. The only thing you can is highlight your review, copy it, and then start over on the original game review page. Only you have to edit your review down to fit, of course..
Joel said on another thread that Gamezebo is going to expand the limit on user reviews to 800 characters next week. .I agree, though, that the error process could be more user-friendly, regardless of the limit set, because as it is it's pretty confusing. -
Yes, correct. No problems if you didn't exceed 500. But no explanation of whats happening if you did. LOL. Toast is a good word for it.
Also, when I type in Wedding Dash 2 in the Search engine, up comes Gamezebo, reviews, and then the link for Wedding Dash 2 Rings Around the World. However when I click on it, its a review for Lego and Zodiac Tower. Help.

And, unless I missed it in a thread somewhere else...we still can't navigate around the forum without going back to Community, right? Just checking....in case you knew a secret.

No, you didnt miss any:)You still have to go back to 'community' - And sorry to say, looking to the gamezebo-people, the forum gets more and more chaotic. To find back some stuff, when you forgot to add them to the favs is often not possible. For a lot of games, there are two or more threads.... its not that funny for the user. And as the side is public now, its getting worse. I (and im sure, the others also) know, that it takes a while to get all running, but to be honest, the concept of the forum is just not that good reassed (or, in the best way, you did not thougt, that we users would use it that much).

Please dont get me wrong, I spend a lot of time here, because I just love the side. But in the meantime i need a good part of this time for searching for finding what I want. Greetings Kayleigh -
How come when I read a thread, I can click on page 1,2,3,4. But after I get to the Last Page, and try to go back to page 3, I cant. Once you've read it, you can only go First or Last. That's it. HELP.

I just checked to see what you were talking about, I was able to click back to any page even after I read the last one. By any chance did you mean after you post a message instead of after you read the last page? Just checking to make sure.
In response to your question in the PF thread..Yes, Joel is very aware of the situation. You guys may not believe it but he listens to everything people say on here. However, at the moment he has to focus on getting some key elements worked out on the site and then he can address issues like forum navigation and page layouts etc.
All you guys have been great and have been hanging in here with us. we really appreciate it very much. So much so that in a few days we are going to have some contests and give away some free games to the winners.
I ask all of you to please give Joel and the rest of the crew a chance to address all these issues. It takes time and it will be done. You can still keep writing and giving us your opinions as usual. All feedback is welcome.
We will keep you updated as things progress, I promise!

Wow! Lot of good feedback. As Margie said, been busy fixing lot of obvious bugs. Next step will be to incorporate all your suggestions and get that done fast. Making the forums as easy to use as the comments (and dare I say better) is a top priority.
Let me answer, in order:
@ Pillar: I think it would be easy to change it from 5 to something higher. Or, we can have a link that says "more forum" messages and go to a page where it list it all. That was originally in design but not work at launch so took it out. We can get it working and add it (that was the plan).
@Latte & Robin: I changed it to 800 today so the change should take effect. We'll fix the messaging. Sorry, I agree that is a pain.
@ Latte & all: Question on navigating through the forum, I just realized what you are asking. Do you mean top navigation on the general discussion forums like you see within each game forum? For example, the top navigation "breadcrumbs" on top of this Dream Chronicles forum? This is a good idea, not sure why did not add them to General Discussion Forums. We'll add. I'll post here when we do or you'll see.

Looks like you guys are really working fast on issues...the page navigation error is fixed as far as I can see, the incorrect links I mentioned are fixed. The Home Page Last Forum Message issue looks good, not just one viewable response anymore. Now we just need some breadcrumbs....LOL..I've never heard them called that before. Thanks for getting on it so quickly!! There are a lot of other great ideas from users in this Gamezebo feedback thread. Wouldn't it have been great if we could have thought of all this during beta, but sometimes, it just takes daily use to think of what is most useful! Great site. Thanks Joel & MargieB -

@ latte and all, we are indeed working on a lot of things crazily. thanks to a mysterious man named thomas is working out of a cafe in thailand. he is normally working in new york, but thanks to the magic of the internet, the lead engineer of the project can go to southeast asia and work on the site. this is why sometimes you see me respond to you very late at night my time because am talking to him in the morning. strangely enough, dare i say, he gets more stuff done over there than here (is either the good curry or the fact that he is not in meetings or getting phone calls like he does in his normal office setting).
A lot things just broke when launched the site that worked fine in beta. Others, like the "breadcrumbs" on top of General Discussions, were oversights that seem so obvious to me now. Sometimes, when you are working on something and looking at it again and again and again, you just miss it. Yesterday when I read this thread, I was like, "Wait a second...where is the top nav?"
We got a list of things to improve. Some are very easy (e.g., make the green darker, increase the font). Some are not as easy, but very little is impossible. It's good to see how people actually use the forums because it gives you ideas of how to improve things.
We may be small company with little resources, but we are fast and nimble. You shall see :)

right now, the points are just for fun. one day, we'll make them worth something. maybe we'll let you redeem them to win prizes in sweepstakes, trade them in to donate to money to charity, or turn them in for games.
the inspiration for points was yahoo answers. i used to work at yahoo before i started gamezebo, and i was always blown away how fun it was to earn points for doing fun little things on that site and how much i and people enjoyed it. the idea was to let people earn points on the site for doing actions that are fun (example, casual game quiz) or nice (example, sending kudos to one another). you will notice you do not earn points for posting in the message boards. that is so people do not post spam or fake messages to earn more points. not that anyone here would do that :) This is a really nice group of people. Thank you all for giving us the opportunity to fix things. We really are trying to make this the best site and community for people passionate about casual games.

i had just gave some feedback and when I click "Post a New Message" Nothing happens and I click again. Nothing happens. Finally, it goes back to the Forums and Wows, my message has appeared a few time. There should be some signal that it is being processed or send.

it's me, joel, the chief gamezebo :)
1. the new site actually posts messages up much faster than old site, since old site, we'd approve all that went up. there are "syncing issues" (e.g., takes about a minute to post up in IE). Don't quote me but its probably a somewhat simple fix.
2. What do you mean by listing publishers and developers? Do you mean as listed on the article? We do that now and I think it's pretty cool what we do. When you go to any review, preview, tips on the site, look at the upper right hand corner and see "publisher" and "developer." those are hyper linked and when you click on them, they list all games we have on our system for that company. If you mean our recommended links page, that we'll add next week.

The Publisher Developer lists work if the fields are filled in and the names are consistent. If you look at Azada and click on the developer it does not pull in the MCF games because Big Fish Games Studios is listed on Azada and Big Fish Games is listed on the MCF games. If you look at Dream Chronicles 2, Curse of the Pharaoh or Natalie Brooks the fields are blank.I love the feature because when you run across a game you love, you want to know what other games the developer has done.

Being fairly new here I am not familiar with the old format but since I have been here I can see there is a lot of effort and time put into this site. Every day there is something added to make it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for.

when we did the transfer of content from the old to the new site, a lot of fields did not come in properly, including name of writer and a lot of publisher and developer info.
the plan now is to do one more content push of what we are missing next week (missing 3 months of old reviews) then to fill in the blanks. unfortunately, it'll have to be done manually so will take a few weeks to do, but we'll do it.
we're also going to get our old comments on the new site as well, but it'll take time to complete that as well.
glad you like the new feature when it works. you should thank my engineer Thomas for it -- it was his idea.

per request, we added top navigation "bread crumbs" to the top of all our forums, including the general discussions here. i agree, it definitely makes navigation much easier.

I like the bread crumbs on the Community Forums but does the bread basket has a hole in it. If you are in a community forum, the crumbs say for example, Gamezebo- Community-Forums-Beta Testing Comments. If you click on the word Forums it takes you to: We're Sorry - The page you have requested does not exist or has been moved.
