Burdaloo Review

My wife hates birds. Really hates them. She's one small step away from full-fledged ornithophobia. Hence the reason I was not allowed to play Pretty Good Games' match-three game, Burdaloo, while she was in the same room. The constant and highly realistic sound of flapping wings and gentle cooing in the background drove her batty.

This is my way of saying that Burdaloo's stand-out feature is its slick production values. The terrific sound effects are just the start. The boldly-colored Flash-based graphics, which feature a nice assortment of cartoonish, animated birds, are just as impssive. And each type of avian has its own distinguishable personality, from the frowing black Hermans to the dopey purple Maxwells.

However, get past the polished audio and visual elements and you have a pretty average matching game.

Sea Journey Review

Eye patches, parrots, wodden legs, black flags and treasures - these are the first associations that come to mind when I think of pirates. Not all of them are present in Sea Journey, a new addition to the battle match-3 genre by DivoGames that lets the player experience thrilling sea battles and quests for gold and treasure. The superb presentation is a plus, while the basic gameplay will remind some gamers of Puzzle Quest. So, is Sea Journey just another clone, or is it as good as the presentation implies?

Super Stamp Review

With the Internet slowly replacing the postal service as the preferred method of sending messages, stamp collecting isn't as popular as it once was. That doesn't stop Super Stamp from being an enjoyable homage to the hobby - provided you like your puzzle games simple and uncomplicated.

Majestic Forest Review

A Crumb by any other name would play as sweet - or at least that's what publisher Merscom would like you to think with Majestic Forest. A re-engineering of the puzzle game Crumb from 2008, Majestic Forest shares much of the original title, but has a few important changes.
