Farm Craft Review

We didn't expect to be impressed with Farm Craft. Sure, you can finally hire farmhands, but did we need another garden game? After the first two rounds, though, it opened up with surprise mid-level goals and dozens of decision points. A brilliant mix of money and task goals, and many ways to approach each challenge, made it a compelling offering.

It's not perfect, and unfortunately our enjoyment was hampered by crashes due to video card issues, but like Build-a-lot, it's a strategy offering with a lot mroe going on than you see at first glance.

Alice Greenfingers 2 Review

What would happen if you took a time management game and offered it in untimed mode? Alice Greenfingers 2 has the answer, and it turns out to be surprisingly engaging. But to fully enjoy the game as it is, you have to put aside all your preconceptions about what it's supposed to be.

Farm Mania Review

Agricultural simulations have been so inexplicably popular lately that perhaps this holiday season, Santa should be shouting "Hoe hoe hoe!" instead. Thankfully, Farm Mania provides one of the catchiest and most playable takes on barnyard life yet.

Farm Mania Preview

Realore Studios has announced that they plan on releasing a new farmed-themed time management game entitled Farm Mania.  The game follows the story of Anna, a young girl with dreams of running a prosperous farm (what girl doesn’t?).  In addition to planting and selling your crops, you’ll also be able to bake pies and breads, breed and grow lifestock, and turn wool into scarves and gloves.  The game will feature 60 levels, 12 mini games (including a hidden object mini-game), 12 buildings, and 25 various upgrades.

You'll plant pumpkins, cabbage and other organic vegetables, buy cows, take care of chickens and pigs, and more as you work to revive your grandfather's farm. Old gramps will even act as your assistant.

Farm Frenzy 2 Review

As a city slicker who grew up thinking milk comes from a store, I wasn't sure if I'd "get" playng Alawar's Farm Frenzy 2, a game all about farm management and profit. Much to my surprise, however, the game's challenging levels and cute graphics were egg-sactly what I needed on lengthy plane rides this past weekend.

Farmer Jane Review

As popular a theme as agriculture has become with casual game developers lately, you'd think it was the newest pop culture sensation, not a hardscrabble means of eking out a living that's rapidly losing steam in North America. Still, just in case you missed the numerous other rurally-influenced simulations released in the past three months alone, now there's Farmer Jane which, unlike competitors, packs slick 3D visuals.
