BurgerTime Deluxe Review
Who could forget Burger Time, the tasty '80s arcade game that challenged players to build hamburgers and avoid running into the nasty toppings. Even fitness guru Jillian Michaels, star of The Biggest Loser, says she spent many a quarter on this frantic arcade puzzler back in the day.
Well, it's back. Namco Networks has resurrected this classic but while adding new game-play elements, better graphics, bigger levels (both vertically and horizontally) and minigames, too. It's not perfect, but a delicious update nonetheless.
Mevo & the Grooveriders Review
If Super Mario married a guitar god from Rock Band, their offspring might resemble something like Mevo & the Grooveriders, a quirky music game for the PC. This side-scrolling rhythm puzzler is both entertaining and challenging and what it lacks in the originality department it makes up for in sheer fun.
Tibor - Tale of a Kind Vampire Review
Vampires are a dime a dozen these days. From the Buffy the Vampire series to the recent tween phenomenon Twilight, it seems that everyone is trying to cash in on these bloodsuckers. Cateia Games tries to turn the traditional views of the creatures of the night on their collective pointy ears in Tibor – Tale of a Kind Vampire. Unfortunately, like the creatures themselves, the game turns to dust in the morning sun.
Plant This! Review
Tower defense games - simple tactical battles played out in real-time where you attempt to build a range of strategic roadblocks and turrets to guard against onrushing hordes - are hugely popular on home PCs. Plant This!, which despite its general lack of polish, comes correct where it counts most: Furiously addictive play. Capable of taxing both one's wits and reflexes, it's a great way to kill 15 minutes here and there without having to shift your brain completely into neutral.
Brick Addiction - The Sunken City Preview
Matt Lee, the head honcho at Magic Mask Games, told Gamezebo that he wanted to make a decent brick buster because he was "sick of waiting for someone else to do it." Other than the Redound/Ricochet series, he hasn't been overly impressed with Breakout-style games in the casual space, and he's hoping to make a splash with his upcoming offering, Brick Addiction - The Sunken City.
