iPhone Friday: The Price is Right

In its 35-year run as a top game show on TV, The Price is Right has been taken to every conceivable game platform that exists – the PC, console, the Web and mobile phone, to name a few.

Now, Ludia and Freemantle Media have launched The Price is Right for the iPhone. This iPhone version is as true to the original TV show as possible for a touch-screen mobile device.  Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on how big a fan of the TV show you are.

Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst Review

Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst marked a turning point in the MCF series that saw its tone shift from light-hearted crimefighting romp to something decidedly deeper, darker and more supernatural. In a nice show of symmetry, Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst, the fifth MCF game, is not only a return but also a second turning point that takes the series away from a hidden object focus and towards a full-fledged point-and-click adventure.

Cool: TV Interview with Dan Bernstein, Sandlot Games

What does Sandlot CEO Dan Bernstein have in common with Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin?  They all compose their own music.  Of course, Dan brings the added skill of game design to the table (let's see you match that, Mozart).

Take a look behind the scenes with KING5-TV Evening Magazine's expose and interview with Dan Bernstein of Sandlot Games.

Web Wednesdays: Toxic 2

When it's Wednesday and in doubt on a Web game to pick, check out what Nitrome is up to is my mantra. Nitrome and MTV Arcade has just released Toxic 2, a robotic side scroller flash game more intense than its predecessor.  Controls are simple:  Use your arrow keys to move left, right, jump and duck.  Use your space bar to drop a bomb (and take cover).  Toxic 2 features 20 new robot infested levels, new bosses to fight, and machines to overthrow.  Play Toxic 2 for free on MTV Arcade.
