Who could forget their high school prom? Angela Napoli certainly hasn’t. Hers was so memorable it made the front page of the newspaper! It’s prom season again, and with all the young girls looking for the latest fashions to wear to the dance, Angela is getting a bit nostalgic. Her little trip down memory lane is full of bumps, however, some of which could land her in jail!

Fabulous: Angela’s High School Reunion is a time management game closely related to the Delicious Emily series. Instead of restaurants or eateries, this spin-off focuses on the world of fashion, featuring the latest dresses and skirts, jewelry and accessories, all ready for the city’s hippest shoppers to come by and take a look. It’s your job to make sure everyone gets what they need as fast as possible. What’s the point in looking great if you can’t get out there and show it off?!

Fabulous: Angela’s High School Reunion works like the previous Fabulous Angela game, or like most time management games in general. Angela sits in the shop waiting for customers to stroll by. They decide what item they’d like to see, all you have to do is click it and bring it to them. Tidy things up once they’re done, then collect their cash and wish them a good day. The faster you serve the better your score, and you can do things like rack up combos or purchase patience-increasing furnishings to keep customers smiling.

The story in Fabulous: Angela’s High School Reunion pushes forward in cutscenes presented between levels. In this entry, Angela starts out working on a new line of prom dresses while surreptitiously bumping into old high school friends. Without spoiling some of the softer moments, Angela goes on a journey that includes spending time at her old high school, relives her prom night, and then makes a quick stopover at Snuggford Prison. Must have been a wild reunion.

Story and artwork take the lead in the Fabulous: Angela’s High School Reunion experience. Both are top notch and add a layer of interest that goes above and beyond the time management core. Gameplay doesn’t add a lot of surprises, letting you click and queue, upgrade, restock, assemble special items, and hunt down a few extras in-level and beyond. It’s pretty basic from beginning to end, but it’s easy to pick up and extremely enjoyable all the same. You wouldn’t want to get hung up on a difficult stage when Angela’s reunion is on the horizon, would you?

All in all, Fabulous: Angela’s High School Reunion is a straightforward but solid entry in the series. If a tale of forgotten teenage romance and prom night shenanigans is your thing, you won’t be able to click your way through the levels fast enough.

The good

  • Great story and artwork.
  • Simple but engaging gameplay.

The bad

  • Beyond the storyline, nothing really separates it from other games in the series.
