As we prepare for tonight’s onslaught of new releases (and with the holidays just around the corner, you’d better believe that the App Store and Google Play are going to be hoppin’), we’ve combed through our emails and advanced knowledge to bring to you a short list of new games we’re excited to play this evening. The four we’ve picked are all wildly different from one another, too, so there should be a little something for every kind of mobile gamer tonight.
Super Cat Bros
Love old school platforming? Of course you do! 2016 has delivered a lot of great options on this front, and FDG is looking to continue that with the release of Super Cat Bros. Judging from the trailer, there seems to be a mix of influences from Mario to Bubble Bobble. In short, we couldn’t be more excited to get our paws on this one.
It’s a puzzle game about words, but don’t think for a moment that this makes it a word puzzle game. Instead you’ll take four letters and create, well… everything. Create objects by combining letters as you help a writer reassemble their memory.
Plantera offers a new twist on something we haven’t see in a while: farming games. This one offers a flat, 2D perspective with a host of adorable creatures who seem to either be helping you pick your crops or viciously eating all of your fruits and veggies — we’re not quite sure yet, but look forward to finding out when Plantera launches tonight.
Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World
Timed with the release of the next film set in JK Rowling’s wizarding world (you know, where Harry Potter lives), Cases from the Wizarding World will offer a hidden object adventure that takes players to famous locations like the Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade (along with some new environments, too).
