My Little Pony: Puzzle Party is a mobile game where franchise fans can play side by side with beloved characters such as Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, and more. It is a pretty standard match-3 style game where players must clear a board by matching adjacent colored blocks. There are plenty of thematic boosters and pony power-ups at your disposal. The blocks can only be moved by clearing others nearby, which means you’ll need to plan out your moves to be in the best position to take advantage of boosts. If you’re looking to saddle up with My Little Pony: Puzzle Party, here are Gamezebo’s tips, cheats and strategies.

  • You can remove as few as 2 connected blocks, but while this might seem like an advantage, it can actually be an obstacle. Rather than focusing on larger combinations to earn boosts, you’ll burn through lots of moves just clearing out pairs of matching colors. This also means that the board can be far more difficult without the relief of a board reshuffle for no possible matches. Clearing two to four blocks won’t give you any boosts so you should aim for 5 or above wherever possible.
  • 5 connected blocks will spawn a lightning bolt which will clear a row or column.
  • 7 connected blocks will spawn a boiling cauldron which will clear one level of adjacent blocks.
  • 9 connected blocks will spawn a swarm of parasprites which will scatter and eliminate blocks that match their own color.

  • Because the blocks move down and fill in from above, you can use the dropping strategically. If you have matches on the top of the board and the bottom of the board, hit those top matches first because removing the bottom matches will shift the board and you could lose what you’ve got set up already.
  • When you have obstacles like barrels or clouds but also need to acquire specific colored blocks, focus on removing the obstacles first; you’ll inevitably be removing colored blocks as you go anyway, so they will add up while you’re focusing on the tougher things in your way.
  • Using a Pony Power-up does not count against your tally of remaining moves. Whenever possible, save those power-ups for when you’re nearing the end of a level and need to bust through some tough obstacles quickly.

  • You can earn Pony Power-ups in their respective levels by filling a meter over time with their required blocks. You are also given 3 free power-ups per pony to use at any time, on any level. The clever little ponies will entreat you to try out their power-ups just to show you how well they work. Ignore their offers unless you truly need their help at that moment by clicking out of the pop-up. Be aware that you cannot use organically acquired power-ups in levels other than that pony’s level. For example, if you leave Applejack’s stage with a fully earned meter ready to deploy, she will not be available to use in Rainbow Dash’s level. But, you can use the 3 “anytime” power-ups in that stage. This is why it is so important to save them.

  • Using two boosts together will always guarantee the best, most powerful results. However, because the position of the blocks cannot be switched side-to-side, you’ll need to start planning how to get them near one another as soon as they appear on the board. Once you deploy two or more adjacent boosts, they’ll spawn additional boosts all over the board. If enough cause a chain reaction, they can usually wipe out an entire board in one move.
  • There are several opportunities to earn additional resources like lives or coins by watching video ads. Make sure to take advantage of those when they appear because they aren’t unlimited.
