Normally, a mobile game about trying to create the best meth empire possible would be A Bad Thing (patent pending), at least to some folks. But when all it’s doing is bringing back fond memories of one of the most gripping dramas in recent memory like Breaking Bad: Empire Business, all is forgiven.

We didn’t make that up either. Breaking Bad: Empire Business is currently in soft launch in Australia from Phase One Games, and it just received an update earlier this week. It’s a fully licensed affair that promises “all of your favorite characters from Breaking Bad,” specifically naming Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Gus Fring and Saul Goodman.

Thanks to the fine people at Touch Arcade, we can also tell you that it’s a free-to-play title with city builder elements, though it also appears to have some Clash of Clans DNA in the sense that its latest update touts the ability to form Syndicates with other players and to rally and reinforce fellow members against incoming attacks.

A possible trouble sign could be the fact that it currently has just one and a half stars across all versions, though the small sample size disclaimer definitely applies since only 48 players have rated it to date. If you live in Australia or know how to create an Australian iTunes account (hint: it’s very similar to the way you’d create a Canadian account), you can test it out now and determine for yourself if it’s enough to make those warm memories of Breaking Bad come flooding back — even though, when you think about it, that’s kind of disturbing.
