Memes aren’t hard to make, but they get even easier with apps. If you’re a tried-and-true video game player, there’s a very good chance you’ll get a chuckle out of a Pokemon meme. And now, thanks to the official Pokemon Photo Booth app, you can make your very own.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, The Pokemon Company has just launched the Photo Booth as a free download on the App Store. The Pokemon Photo Booth lets players create Pokeball-tinged profile pictures and — more importantly — classic Pokemon scenes using your own photography and keywords.

It’s admittedly limited in what it does, but it’s still pretty slick. There’s an Instagram-like filters section that even includes a “pixelate” option, and six different captions to choose from:
- _____ wants to battle!
- A wild _____ appears!
- _____ is evolving!
- _____ used _____. It was super effective.
- _____ used _____. It was not very effective.
- _____, I choose you!
It’s all the fun of Mad Libs, only with the added bonus of humiliating your friends when you catch them in an embarrassing photo. The official Pokemon Photo Booth app is available now on the App Store.
