If you’ve been waiting patiently for Nintendo’s first mobile app, Miitomo, you probably know that it won’t be coming to the App Store and Google Play until sometime in March. As of today, though, you can pre-register for the game at miitomo.com and sign up for a Nintendo Account to use the new My Nintendo rewards program.
You’ll want to do this latter part if you want the pre-registration to have any real value. (After all, it’s not like this is a college course that’s going to fill up). My Nintendo members who pre-register for Miitomo will earn My Nintendo Platinum Points, which you can redeem for, well… something. We’re not too sure what My Nintendo is going to look like when it launches in full, but if its anything like the recently retired Club Nintendo, there should be plenty of cool swag in the pipeline.
In addition to the pre-registration, Nintendo unveiled a number of new screenshots today that give gamers a better glimpse of what Nintendo’s first foray into mobile will look like. Miitomo promises to be a social experience that “makes it easy for people to express themselves and interact with their friends in new and fun ways,” according to Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive VP of Sales & Marketing.
Pre-register now to score some Platinum Points, and get notified the moment Miitomo is available for download in March.
