Game of War is a household name and a consistent chart topper on the App Store, though I’m still at a loss for why. Maybe it has something to do with the time that Kate Upton was their spokesperson (before Mariah Carey inexplicably took up the role of warrior empress). But why should it take a game developer with a million dollar budget to get a Kate Upton commercial when they can just steal somebody else’s?

That seems to be the tactic Thomas Young, the creator of Shuffle Islands, has taken.

“A friend and I were having some drinks the other night,” Young told Gamezebo in an email, “and he said to me ‘Tom, it’s a shame you don’t have the money to get Kate Upton in an ad for your games, like those Game Of War guys do.’ Luckily, after a few more drinks, we came up with a solution to this problem. A solution that might get me sued by Carl’s Jr, Game Of War and possibly even Depeche Mode…”

Be sure to check out the video before lawyers get it yanked, because everything — even Kate Upton — is better with fart sounds and Depeche Mode. Shuffle Islands is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
