Few games this year have been as divisive as Sid Meier’s Starships. Some players, like myself, absolutely loved it. I’d go so far as to say Starships is a serious contender for 2015 iPad Game of the Year. But the game also has its share of detractors. There are more than a few one and two star reviews on iTunes, and some mobile editorial sites, like PocketTactics, readily agree with them.
So who can you trust?
As of today, “your wallet” is a fairly good answer to that question. Whereas before you’d have to spend a whopping $14.99 to grab Sid Meier’s Starships on your iPad, you can now pick it up for the deeply discounted price of $8.99.
If you were on the fence because of this game’s polarizing reception, you can now find out which side you’ll fall on without spending quite so many shekels in the process. Besides, I stand by my original opinion: this is a really great game — especially if you’ve always been fascinated by turn-based space battles but generally find the genre too daunting to dive into.
