Yes, you read that right! Playdead’s incredibly dark and atmospheric platform-puzzle adventure LIMBO will be available for download on iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices starting next week.

LIMBO has already sold 3 million units across all PC and console platforms since the game’s initial release in 2010, and has quickly arisen to become one of those staple examples that come to mind when we think of quality “indie games” today. An appearance on the App Store could only strengthen that standing.

Personally, I’m interested to see how the shadowy journey will translate onto touchscreen controls, since many of the platforming segments in the game require the utmost precision, and have often caused my character to die on me in a number of gruesome and horrifying ways.

LIMBO is set to hit the iOS App Store worldwide on Wednesday, July 3, and will be priced at $4.99. If anything, this will make the already excruciating wait for Playdead’s mysterious “Project 2” just a little bit more bearable.
