It’s Wednesday, and we all know what that means, right?  Cheap Whoppers!  Wait… you don’t have Whopper Wednesdays where you live?  Maybe it’s just me.  Or maybe I dreamed it.  Mmmmmm…. Whoppers…

It’s Wednesday, and we all know what that means, right?  Cheap Whoppers!  Wait… you don’t have Whopper Wednesdays where you live?  Maybe it’s just me.  Or maybe I dreamed it.  Mmmmmm…. Whoppers…

Maybe I shouldn’t write these posts so close to lunch time.  Regardless of my ticking tummy, it seems like we have another great lineup of iOS games coming out tonight!  A little something for readers, a little something for skaters – the selection really runs the gamut.  Here are our top picks for tonight’s releases.

news

Word Smack

If you haven’t gotten your fill of multiplayer word games like Words With Friends and Scramble With Friends yet, EA has a new entry in the field tonight – and it looks to try a little something different.  Besides: proving that your more literate than your family and friends never gets old.

Square Planet

Finally, a game that Limp Bizkit would love.  Why, you ask?  Because it’s all about rollin’, rollin’, rollin’.  Come on!  My lame attempt at humor aside, Square Planet looks like a potentially perfect platformer for portable gamers, combining the tilty nature of the iPhone with gorgeous visuals and plenty of personality.

True Skate

Sometimes great developers make great things that are entirely their own – but sometimes, they look at somebody else’s work and think “I could do better.”  That seems to be the impetus behind True Skate, the latest release from Jet Car Stunts creator True Axis.  “I decided we should develop True Skate after playing Touchgrind for the first time,” TrueAxis’ Luke Ryan told us. “It really wasn’t at all what I had hoped for.”

A Wonderland Story

Chasing white rabbits… it’s the story of our lives, am I right?  But what if instead of chasing that rabbit, you were able to manipulate the world around him to help him get where he needed to go?  Now that’s a neat twist on the classic Alice tale.

Fighting Fantasy: Blood of the Zombies

Considering that the classic Fighting Fantasy novels were what inspired Tin Man Games to create their Gamebook Adventures series in the first place, it’s quite fitting that they’ve come full circle like this.  You see, the team at Tin Man are adapting the latest FF title – and even better, you won’t have to wait until tonight!  This one saw and early release today, and can be downloaded right now!

Sonic Jump

Sonic the Hedgehog meets the world of vertical platforming?  What’s not to love?  Ok… potentially a lot.  But we won’t know for sure until we get our hands on the game later this evening.  If you’re a fan of little blue hedgehogs, this is one you’ll probably want to keep your eye out for.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
