Game Introduction – Deponia

Welcome to the Deponia walkthrough on Gamezebo.  Deponia is a point and click adventure game created by Daedelic Entertainment.  In it you guide a lovable egomaniac named Rufus through a garbage-filled adventure.  The very fate of world depends on how well you can cope with the nonsensical puzzles that fill it!  Gamezebo’s walkthrough will provide you with detailed images, tips, information and hints on how to finish the game.

Chapter 1: Pack your bags

  • Click the green suitcase on the bed.  According to the list inside, you need bolt cutters, a toothbrush, socks, and provisions.
  • Click the pillow on the bed.  Beneath is a green sock.  Take it.
  • Pick up the torch and oilcan on the bench to the right and then go downstairs.
  • Grab the note on the bathroom door.
  • Click the toothbrush next to the sink.  It will run away!

  • Open the locker on the left of the screen and take the detergent and bolt cutters.
  • Open the bathroom door and take the plunger.
  • Open the door in the middle of the screen.  Take the note off of the object that appears, then head down the ramp.
  • Take the fork out of the downstairs sink.  Take the pot from the sink too.  On the sink is note.  Read it.
  • Next to it on the fridge is another mean note.  Read that too.  Inside that fridge is your other sock.  Where else would it be?
  • Use the plunger on the stuck closet towards the right of the screen.  Stick your hand in the mouse hole and voila — a mousetrap.
  • On the sofa chair is another mean note.  Read it.  Then check out the coat on the left of the screen.
  • Take the pot in your inventory and place it in the sink.  Fill it up with water and place it on top of the stove in the corner of the room.  Add detergent to the water.  Open the grate on the oven below, then shove all those mean notes in there and set them on fire with the blowtorch.
  • Now that the pot is boiling, put the three socks in your inventory in the hot soapy water.  They need a wash.  Stir the socks with the fork you found earlier.  For whatever reason that makes the socks change color.  Now you have a fresh pair.
  • Head back to the sink and empty the used oilcan into it.  Use the can on the chair to collect the wasabi peas stuck in the cushions.  You now have your provisions!
  • Combine the provisions with the mousetrap, then use it on the toothbrush in the corner.  Now you have your toothbrush!
  • Head back upstairs to your suitcase and fill it up with your newfound crap.  Go into your inventory and add the toothbrush, provisions, bolt cutters, and socks.  But then you won’t be able to close the suitcase.  Dispose of the bolt cutters.

Chapter 2: Light the fuse

Deponia

  • First things first — you have to get packing.  Open the pod door on the left, then open the storage space revealed inside.  Remove the battery and replace it with the suitcase.
  • Grab the wrench next to the ramp in the middle of the screen.  Then head back into Toni’s house.  Go downstairs and leave through the exit at the bottom left.
  • Use the wrench to unscrew the mailbox and… borrow it.  Head back to the pod.
  • Get rid of the seat in the pod using the wrench.  Replace it with the mailbox.  Open it up.  Place the battery inside.  The capsule is ready. 
  • Head to the harpoon and calibrate.  Move the stick in the following order.  If you mess up, you can reset with the button in the upper right hand corner.  You can skip it too if you want:

  • Light the fuse on the right side of the harpoon with your torch.

Chapter 3: Garbage away

  • As you are dangerously dangling by a chain, you should probably do something about that.  Click the chains twice and then the chute.  You’ll be on your feet in no time.

  • Open your suitcase and remove from it the provisions and socks.
  • Stick the provisions in the cogwheels in the middle of the screen to jam up the works.  When the arm comes out to un-jam the works, put a sock over the hatch.  Now you can open the hatch and remove the robot arm.
  • Use the robot arm to cut the hatch on the left.  Climb into the hatch.  Pull the green lever and “rescue” the damsel in distress.

Chapter 4: Pick-me-up

  • Head to the village center.

  • Move to the town hall.
  • Talk to the hairy chinned woman named Lotti in the window.  Take a number from the nearby number dispenser on the left side of the screen.  Pull the lever to dispense it.

  • Grab the magnets on the bulletin board on the left.
  • Enter the assembly hall.

  • Click the doorknob on the door on the right of the screen.  Take the balloons out of the cardboard box inside.
  • Return to the town hall.  Head back outside.  Enter the alley in the middle of the screen.

  • Go into Lonzo’s bar.
  • Take the sign next to Lonzo.
  • Take the dart from the dartboard.
  • Talk to Lonzo.  Ask him about Goal, the stranger.  Then ask Lonzo about an ultimate pick-me-up.  You’ll find a recipe full of new things you need.
  • Before you head back outside, pick up the red curtain off the floor.
  • Leave the bar and head right towards the emergency station.

Chapter 5: EMERGENCY

Deponia

  • Pick up the drill and scalpel on the table.
  • Pull the down lever on the left.
  • Remove the foot fetters from the police box.
  • Pull the lever down again to expose the fire station.
  • Remove the fire extinguisher from the fire fighter’s cabinet.
  • Take the asbestos gloves from the rack.
  • Put the foot fetters into the fire fighter’s cabinet.
  • Push the lever up, then take the handcuffs.
  • Pull the lever down again.
  • Take your newly acquired handcuffs and stick them into the hatch on the right of the screen.
  • Lift the lever to expose the doctor’s station again and combine your balloons with the laughing gas tank.
  • Lower the lever again to expose the police station.
  • Exit back out to the town center, then out the gate.  Climb up the pole to enter the emergency station again.  Once behind bars, take the lock pick.
  • Use the lock pick on the bars to get out.
  • Lift the lever again.
  • Use the lock pick on the doctor’s cabinet.
  • Take the syringe and stimulant.
  • Return to the town center.

Chapter 6: Prepare the powder

Deponia

  • Go into the passage that leads to Toni’s house.  You’ll notice a chili pepper on the right hand side of the screen.  Use the asbestos gloves in your inventory to pick it up.
  • Go into Toni’s house and then exit out of the door on the right to get to the backyard.  Pick up the funnel, the dud and the torch.
  • Use the scalpel on the torch to get black powder.
  • Return to the town center.  On the right hand side of the screen, enter Toni’s shop.

Deponia

  • Put the black powder, the chili pepper and the stimulant into the grinder on the left of the screen.
  • Grind it up and remove the “coffee powder.”

Chapter 7: With friends like these

  • Try to take a voucher on the left.  While Toni is meditating, take a hook from the bucket on the right.  She’ll give you the key to the first aid kit.
  • Leave Toni’s shop and head to Wenzel’s house on the bottom left of the town center.
  • After talking to Wenzel, go upstairs and steal the sponge out of his sink.
  • Attach the hook in your inventory to the balloon filled with laughing gas. Then stick the balloon in the furnace.
  • Go down into Wenzel’s basement and drill holes into the pipe with your dentist’s drill.  Rufus isn’t a very good friend, is he?
  • Return to the village center.
  • Walk up to the water reservoir.

  • Click on the pipe so that it moves over Wenzel’s chimney.
  • Pull the chain and flood Wenzel’s basement.  What a nice guy.
  • Return to Wenzel’s house.  Head down to the basement.  Enjoy the moment of triumph and then take the divining rod.

Chapter 8: Kaboom

  • Head back to the village center.  Go into the alley.
  • Open your inventory, select your magnets, and click the detonation plans.

  • Ring the blast signal bell.  Congratulations, you’ve cleared out the line at town hall.  Head there now.
  • On the floor is a ticket.  Pick it up.
  • Go into the Mayor’s office.

  • After speaking with the mayor, ring the bell on his desk.
  • Click the pillow in the drawer and take the item labeled “Planet’s Magnetic Field.”
  • Open your inventory and use the divining rod on the water emblem in the middle of the Mayor’s desk.
  • Take the key.
  • Click the globe.
  • Take the glass.
  • Use the key you just found on the keyhole.
  • Take the booze from the open liquor cabinet and then combine it with the glass you just found.

Chapter 8: Tall macchiato with a double shot of stimulation

Deponia

  • Head back to the village center, then out past the front gate.
  • Take the cow sign and hang it on the bulletin board next to the bull.
  • Place the red curtain over the bulletin board to get the bull riled up.
  • Use the syringe on the bull.
  • Return to the village center.  Go to Toni’s house.
  • Put the sponge into the boiling pot to wet it.
  • Use the first aid key on the first aid box up the stairs.  Take the tranquilizers inside.
  • Return to the town center.  Head back outside of the village.
  • Wash the window of the truck with your wet sponge.
  • Look in through the windshield.
  • Return to the village center.
  • Enter the alley.
  • Talk to Hannek.
  • Ask him about your keys and tell him your name was Sugarpuff.
  • Tell him your favorite color is pink.
  • Tell him you love ballet.
  • Return to the village center.  Head back out the gate.
  • Use the truck keys on the door and pull the lever.  Then open the hood.

  • Take your dentist’s drill from your inventory and use it on the car battery.
  • Take the glass of clear water and use it on the acid.
  • Return to the village center.  Head into the alley and make your way into Lonzo’s bar.
  • Open the tray on his espresso machine.
  • Place the coffee powder into the tray.
  • Click the filler cap in the upper right hand corner of the espresso machine.
  • Combine the syringe with the glass of water.

Deponia

  • Empty the glass of water into the espresso machine and enjoy the show.

Chapter 9: Goodnight, good morning

  • Return to the village center.
  • Combine the dart in your inventory with the tranquilizer.
  • Combine the poison dart with the funnel.
  • Use your newly minted blowgun on the window.

  • Head inside and take some vouchers.
  • Return to the village center.  Head to town hall and then go to the assembly hall.
  • Once these jerks on the stage give you the chance, use the espresso on Goal.
  • Since Gizmo won’t let you do your thing, go set the cardboard box in the closet on fire with the torch in your inventory.
  • Click the microphone on the stage to take it.  Take the stethoscope and plant it on Mayor Lotek.

  • While the boobs are arguing use the funnel on goal, then use the espresso on the funnel.

Chapter 10: The burden of the hero

  • After talking to Goal, fill up a balloon with the laughing gas next to her.
  • Return to the town center.  Enter town hall.  Head to the assembly hall.
  • Pick up the funnel.
  • Click the mayor and swipe the mayor’s clock.
  • Return to town hall and head into the post office.  After getting hollered at, put the mayor’s clock into the sign to the left of Lotti.  Now head into the post office.

  • Open the hatch on the left and give the cat in there some espresso.

  • Open the hatch on the right and give that cat some tranquilizer.
  • Open up your inventory and hand one of your vouchers to the robo-postman.
  • Use the espresso on the right cat twice, and the tranquilizer on the left cat twice.
  • Head up the stairs on the left of the screen.
  • Open up the cupboard under the pigeon coop.

  • Place the “Planet’s Magnetic Field” into the cupboard.
  • Click the buttons in the order shown:

  • Return to the post office and give the robo-postman another gift voucher.
  • Click the bubble wrap three times.
  • Return to the post office.
  • Click the replacement cat hatch at the right of the entrance.
  • Take the cat.
  • Take the note on the door of the vault.
  • Remove the note from your inventory, then hover it over the mailboxes to the right of the entrance.  The note is a cipher.  Each hole in the note shows three numbers of a mailbox beneath it.  The number next to each hole shows which of the three digits shown beneath that hole to use.  The code to get into the vault is 3, 6, 4, 9.
  • Click the clock face and enter 3, 6, 4, 9.  Enter the vault.
  • Grab the nodding bird.  Return to the town hall.  Enter the Mayor’s office.

  • Stick one of your cats on the teletypwriter.
  • Return to the village center, then head into the alley.
  • Use your laughing gas balloon on the parrot, then combine the knocked out parrot with the espresso in your inventory to wake the poor guy up.
  • Enter Toni’s shop.
  • Place the parrot on the pole to the left of Toni.  Leave, return and take the parrot back.
  • Use the parrot on the emergency phone in the middle of the village center.
  • Head to town hall, head back into the Mayor’s office.  Use the nodding bird on the communicator on the desk.
  • Then go the post office.  Head upstairs to the radio operator.  Now that he’s all freaked out, you can swipe his headphones.  They’re to his right.
  • Head back down and enter the vault.
  • Use the microphone on the radio.  Use the headphones on the radio.  Then use the radio.
  • Return to the town center.  Head into the alley and then the emergency station.
  • Click the bed sheet.
  • Remove the cat from your inventory and use it on the tree outside the cell on the right hand side of the screen.
  • Return to the village center.  Go to Wenzel’s house and head down into the basement.  Open the cupboard.
  • Use the divining rod on the door.

Chapter 11: Take the honey and run

Deponia

  • Walk across the bridge.
  • Head into the tunnel in the distance in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Click the mine bike in the middle of the screen.
  • Take the headlight from the front of the mine bike.
  • Head right onto the viaduct.
  • Click the skeleton.
  • Click the mirror.
  • Click the signaling light base and take the bulb inside.

  • Talk to the creepy old doctor.
  • Ask who he is.
  • Tell Doc you’re a handyman too.
  • Tell Doc that you face a problem.
  • Tell him your mine bike won’t start.
  • Drink some of his booze.
  • Take the avial power inverter and head back to the mine bike.  Use it on the bike.
  • Search the junk heap.

  • Attach screw-on bushing onto spherical corpus.
  • Attach emerald muff to spherical corpus.
  • Attach four-spoke bevel to spherical corpus.
  • Attach clamp bushing to conical corpus.
  • Attach cobalt muff to conical corpus.
  • Attach two-spoke bevel to conical corpus.

Chapter 12: Get some wheels

  • Attach a power inverter to the bike.
  • Click the mine bike.  Then click it again.
  • Click the switch.
  • Pick up the cloth in the lower left corner of the room.
  • Head into the tunnel.
  • Click the red handled lever.
  • Click the pink button on the right.
  • Head right onto the viaduct.
  • Grab the key on the skeleton’s chest.
  • Use the cloth to wipe the docs bottle.
  • Combine the mirror with the alcohol soaked cloth.
  • Open up your inventory and stick the polished mirror on the skeleton.
  • Head back to the tunnel and go back up the secret passage.  Return to the control center to your right.
  • Use the key in your inventory on the keybox.  Take the wrench.
  • Click the mine bike.  Click it again, then get off your bike.
  • Head towards the right back onto the viaduct.
  • Place the halogen bulb in the signaling light.
  • Take out your wrench and open up the maintenance hatch with it.
  • Remove the fuse and put a power inverter in its place.
  • Head right to the outer turn.  Take the lever.
  • Return to the viaduct and then head to the tunnel.
  • Use the lever on the shunting box.  Pull it.

  • Click the mine bike.  Click it again.
  • Head to the crane.
  • Open the maintenance box with your wrench.
  • Replace the fuse.
  • Use the crane.
  • Head back to Doc.
  • Head to the outer turn and grab the green handled bottle.
  • Talk to doc and tell him you have some more interesting challenges.
  • Tell Doc you’re fidgety.
  • Once he starts meditating, use the bottle on Doc’s booze.  What a swell guy he is for sharing.
  • Right click the horizon.
  • Return to the crane.
  • Take a seat and prepare to mediate just like Doc told you.
  • Place the skeleton leg on the seat behind you.
  • Right click to look at the horizon.
  • Say you’re a PUPUP.
  • Click the crane lever.

Chapter 13: Full Throttle

  • Click the mine bike with Goal in tow.
  • Click the mine bike again.
  • Click the switch.
  • Click the red lever.
  • Click the right switch twice.
  • Click the mine bike.

Chapter 14: Funhouse

Deponia

  • Use the anchovy machine on the right of the screen.  Take the anchovy on a stick.
  • Click the chewing gum machine one the left hand side of the screen.
  • Click the shelf next to the cotton candy machine.
  • Plug in the cotton candy machine.
  • Eat the anchovies.
  • Use the lever on the right to switch flavors until the cotton candy mix is green.
  • Use the stick with the cotton candy machine.  Now you have phosphor cotton candy.  Yum.
  • Head out through the door on your left into the lobby.
  • Enter the concourse.
  • Use the phosphor cotton candy on the lamp.

  • Pick up the mosaic stone on the floor.
  • Use the phosphor cotton candy on the hatch.
  • Look at the mosaic.
  • Take the cotton candy back.
  • Pick up a pebble on the right.
  • Head towards the right into the elevator.

  • Click the utility cabinet on the right.
  • Take the mop, soap and bucket.
  • Return to the lobby.
  • Use the cotton candy on the hatch under the central mosaic and then look at it.
  • Take back the cotton candy.
  • Head left to the tower.
  • Use the bucket on the water in the lower right hand corner… the green water.
  • Return to the lobby and head to the concourse.
  • Combine the soap with the bucket of water.
  • Combine the mop with the soapy water.
  • Use the mop on the dirty mosaic.
  • Stick the cotton candy in the mosaic hatch and look at the mosaic.
  • Chew the gum in your inventory.
  • Combine the mosaic stone with the chewed gum and use it on the mosaic.
  • Use the mosaic stone with chewed gun on the unfinished mosaic.
  • Arrange the mosaic pieces like so:

  • Try to force the last piece three times.

Chapter 15: Going up

  • Behind the broken mosaic is a fuse box.  Open it and take the flashlight inside.
  • Click the fuse switch to reset the password.
  • Head right into the elevator.
  • Click the elevator controls.
  • Pull the lever at the bottom of the stairs to lower the flag.

  • Take the flag.
  • Take the embellishment on the railing near the door.
  • Head back down the elevator.
  • Return to concourse.

Chapter 16: Going down

Deponia

  • Return to the elevator behind Cletus.
  • Talk to Cletus.
  • Ask about the agreement between the Organons.
  • Tell Cletus you hate Deponia and elaborate.
  • Head back down the elevator.
  • There’s an oil tank to the right of the elevator entrance.  Open the cap and use the mop on the oil tank.
  • Head back to the concourse.
  • Pick the chewing gum off the shards of mosaic tiles.
  • Combine chewed gum with the embellishment to make a slingshot.
  • Combine the pebble and slingshot.
  • Use the slingshot on lamp.
  • Combine the embellishment and the mop handle.
  • Use your new hook to pick up the lampshade.
  • Combine the lampshade and flag.
  • Combine greasy mop with Organon getup.
  • Equip your new disguise.
  • Walk past the soldier.
  • Return up the elevator to Cletus.
  • Talk to Cletus.
  • Ask Cletus about the backup cartridge.
  • Tell Cletus that you need the cartridge.
  • Tell him Goal is unconscious.
  • Return down the elevator and head back to the concourse.
  • Make sure to put on your Cletus costume and then talk to the soldier Argus.

Chapter 17: Damsel in phosphor-ess

  • Return to goal.
  • Use the anchovy machine and take another anchovy on a stick.
  • Use your flashlight on the phosphor.
  • Enter the lobby.
  • Use the flashlight on the phosphor.
  • Head down the stairs and use the flashlight on the phosphor again.

  • Enter the tower.
  • Use the flashlight on phosphor again.

  • Click the piece of fence.
  • Enter behind the tower.
  • Click the needle stack and find a straw.
  • Use your anchovies on the phosphor trace.
  • Use the hook on the grating.

Deponia

  • Enter the cable chute.
  • Combine the flashlight with the bait.
  • Use the glowing bait with the hook.

Deponia

  • Move right down the chute and enter the boat.

Chapter 18: Prince charming

  • Pick up the key.
  • Pick up the duster.
  • Return outside.  Use the key on the chest in the middle of the screen.
  • Right click the chest.
  • Return to the boat.
  • Look at the cartridge and enter the cleaning minigame.
  • Use duster on everything.
  • Use the degreaser on everything.
  • Use the duster on everything.
  • Use the steel brush on everything.

Chapter 19: Action hero Rufus go

  • Return to the exterior of the boat with your new partner in crime.
  • Head back into the chute.
  • Return to the tower.
  • Take out your straw and use it on the pool.
  • Go into the trunk.
  • Exit through the left window.
  • Click the crank.
  • Click the French door.
  • Grab the fork.
  • Click the pipe and use the fork on the horn.
  • Click the horn.
  • Click the canopy top.
  • Pick up the platypus.
  • Stick it under the board and walk over it.
  • Click on the crane.
  • Click the crane lever.
  • Head up the elevator.
  • Click on Cletus’s bag.
  • Equip Cletus’s rags.
  • Talk to Cletus.  Tell him, “Don’t make me laugh.”
  • Click Cletus’s Speedos.
  • Use them on the flagpole.

Chapter 20: I wanna be adored

  • Click the implant on Goal’s head.
  • Tell Goal the truth.
  • Head down the elevator.
  • Return to the concourse.
  • Grab the cartridge on the right hand side of the screen.

Deponia

  • Return to the elevator.
  • When the time comes, grab onto the handles of the helicopter-tv-head guy.
