JetSet Secrets Preview

EA has been pouring a lot of effort into the mobile and casual scene, and here’s a big surprise: the company’s not going to stop anytime soon. In fact, it’s getting ready to release its very first hidden object game (HOG) for Facebook. The game, which is coming this fall, is called JetSet Secrets; and it’s a light-hearted take on a genre that typically features uneasy ghosts and dead bodies piled up in dark corners.

Get ready for a new HOG experience with EA’s cheerful JetSet Secrets

EA has been pouring a lot of effort into the mobile and casual scene, and here’s a big surprise: the company’s not going to stop anytime soon. In fact, it’s getting ready to release its very first hidden object game (HOG) for Facebook. The game, which is coming this fall, is called JetSet Secrets; and it’s a light-hearted take on a genre that typically features uneasy ghosts and dead bodies piled up in dark corners.

Games.com recently talked about JetSet Secrets with Aaron Loeb, EA’s general manager for its Mobile and Casual studios in California. Loeb had plenty to say about the fresh style and content that JetSet Secrets brings to the somewhat saturated HOG genre.

“JetSet Secrets is our new hidden-object game with a light RPG element,” Loeb said, “but set in a glamorous and playful world, where you’re the world’s greatest detective traveling the globe, solving high-end crimes and thwarting the plans of various evil nemeses.

“[We’re making] sure that everything you do is gorgeous and everywhere you go is aspirational and exciting … There’s actually nothing ever grim in this game. It’s always fast paced, light tone, the characters are always playful with each other there’s a lot of witty banter.”

Aside from its cheery disposition, JetSet Secrets aims for distinction by bringing real function to the estate-building sub-game that’s become a staple of Facebook HOGs. Your virtual mansion is staffed with several professionals that can assist you with hidden object scenes depending on the buildings that you erect on your property.

“For instance,” said Loeb, “if you’re building stuff for your chauffeur, who is also a retired astronaut, you get more energy. If you build stuff for your gardener, you get better drops when playing the HOG.”

Needless to say, JetSet Secrets has a social element too. You can help out friends by solving their “cold cases,” which earns you the ability to build exclusive structures and unlock hidden object scenes that can’t be accessed otherwise.

JetSet Secrets is packed with glitter and color, and it should be a good choice for HOG enthusiasts who are ready for something a little deeper, a little more glamorous. Look to start travelling around the world this fall.
