Incoboto looks weird, wonderful

Have you ever seen something and thought “I have absolutely no idea what that is, but I desperately want to be a part of it”? That’s exactly how I felt after watching the trailer for Incoboto, the upcoming iOS game from developer Fluttermind, and I’m sure you will too.

The trailer seems to hint at a puzzle platformer of sorts, but with a twisting world and an art style that has quite literally left me dizzy. Honest. As I type this, I’m feeling a touch of vertigo. And despite this fact, I’m dying to know more.

Fluttermind’s Dene Carter, who some of you might remember as the creative director on a little game called Fable, recently spoke with TouchArcade – but honestly, his answers just seemed to raise even more questions. “This is a strange, strange game, he says, “and I will just make sure everything that I do with this game from now on reflects that.” He also discusses how Incoboto is a game defined by its difficulty;

“If you make it so people are kind of tourists through the entire experience, then it’s literally basically like putting someone in a shopping cart and dragging them all the way past everything in the game as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next thing … I want people to get stuck. But because it’s not a game that where get stuck by dying the whole time — I mean there’s no death in there — you get stuck because you haven’t really understood the implications of everything around you. I think that’s a lovely position to be in.”

Can’t wait to try it yourself? Neither can we. Thankfully, you won’t have long to wait. Incoboto is scheduled to hit the App Store on March 3rd.
