We’ve already looked at Dueling Blades, an upcoming cross-platform action game from Hourblast Games, both with a preview of the game and an in-depth interview with Hourblast’s Joseph Cooper. Now the studio is giving you a chance to help out and contribute to the development of Dueling Blades on Kickstartrer.

As a bit of a refresher, Dueling Blades is a fantasy role-playing game with a heavy emphasis on strategic combat. It features multiplayer battles, multiple classes to choose from, fully 3D visuals, and while it will launch initially on Facebook, both iOS and Android versions are in the works as well. And the game is expected to feature nearly identical gameplay across all platforms.

“The game has been designed to have an equal advantage in a cross-platform experience,” Cooper told Gamezebo in an interview earlier this year. “Players on all platforms of the game will be able to compete with each other. Finally, Android and Apple users will be able to settle their differences in battle!”

So, with the game set to launch in March, why has Hourblast turned to Kickstarter?

“So far we have developed Dueling Blades with a bootstrap budget,” the team wrote on its Kickstarter page. “We do this out of the desire to see a fresh new game on social networks. Game development is our passion and it is our pleasure to work on fun and exciting games. But we need your support.”

Funds raised from Kickstarter will be used for a variety of things, including server and marketing costs, as well as funding the addition of new content like a story mode and even more classes to play as.

Those who donate will be able to earn all sorts of goodies, ranging from in-game items to custom non-playable game characters all the way up to executive producer credits.
