PopCap’s Popcorn Dragon heats up a tasty snack this November

When it comes to developers that routinely manage to combine the adorable and the addictive, few are as notable as PopCap. And yet, despite this reputation, it’s been a while since the house of Peggle and Plants vs Zombies has brought anything major to market. Popcorn Dragon is looking to break from this quiet streak, bring an adorable, movie-loving dragon to the iPhone and iPad later this fall.

In Popcorn Dragon, players will control Ignatius Flambé, an adorable little dragon with a love for movies. But what good is a movie without popcorn? Ignatius will fly around the screen, heating up corn kernels with his firey breath until they pop to make a delicious film-time treat. He’ll also need to be careful of enemies that are looking to put an end to his popcorn-popping ways. Luckily, he can always breathe a little fire their way or give them a good whip with his tail.

The game will offer 10 different levels with distinct movie themes (horror, film noir, sci-fi, etc..), and players will be able to earn movie tickets that they can spend on different outfits to dress up their darling dragon. A variety of upgrades will also be available for Mr. Flambé.

Expect to see Popcorn Dragon on the App Store sometime this November.
