Card Hunter melds card and board games into a browser-based RPG

Both board games and collectible card games have a seen a resurgence on platforms of late, with excellent new titles coming to mobile devices and web browsers on a surprisingly regular basis. So it was only a matter of time before sometime decided to merge the two genres together. And Card Hunter, the first game from developer Blue Manchu, is looking to do just that.

The all-star team at Blue Manchu — which boasts credits on games ranging from BioShock to Magic: The Gathering — describes the game like this:

“We’re taking two great flavours and combining them into something new. Classic fantasy adventuring meets collectible card gaming and the result is entirely new. Tired of pressing buttons while grinding away at quests? Card Hunter is all about skill – your skill at deck building and playing your cards. Tired of paying for endless new card sets? Card Hunter lets you win by playing, not by paying.”
