Become the Willy Wonka of garbage in Trash Tycoon
The number of eco-concious games on Facebook is steadily increasing, with games like Ecotopia and MyConservationPark, but we’ve yet to see a truly great green game come out. Guerillapps is looking to change that with Trash Tycoon, a game that throws you into a world full of trash and tasks you with cleaning things up.
Not only do you need to to clean up trash, but, as the name implies, Trash Tycoon is also about turning that trash into a business through upcycling. Here’s the official description from the developers:
“Trash Tycoon game offers a fun, casual, and social way to engage people of all ages in the process of recycling, collecting litter, and ‘pitching in’ to help make the planet a more beautiful and sustainable place to live. In the game, players take the role of recycling entrepreneurs responsible for cleaning up a trash-strewn city to become the Willy Wonka of the garbage business; players earn game money and points by collecting trash and upcycling it to create marvelous new products out of trash.”
Guerillapps has partnered with Treehugger on the game, and, according to TechCrunch, will be donating 10 percent of all the game’s revenues to CarbonFund.org.
You can keep track of Trash Tycoon‘s progress over at the game’s official Facebook page. The game is expected to remain in closed beta for most of June.
