Choplifter HD is a bit of a rarity in the world of side-scrolling shooters in that you aren’t piloting the usual fighter jet or spaceship, but rather a rescue helicopter whose job is to fly into hostile situations, rescue people in need, and bring them safely back to base.

The game, which will be coming to PC as well as PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, is a re-imagining of the 1982 Apple II game Choplifter, and will have creative input from the original game’s developer, Dan Gorlin.
