Aveyond developer soon to release first hidden object game
Amaranth Games’ hidden object adventure A Gypsy’s Tale has been a long time in the making, but the game is nearing completion and we can finally show you a sneak peek.
Usually when a developer wants to tell us more about an upcoming game they send us some screenshots and interesting facts, but this time Amaranth sent along a note written from the point of view of the protagonist herself, Reylin:
Hello, my name is Reylin of Winderalth. They call me a gypsy, a tinker, a wandering woman, and they are right. But what most don’t know is that I am a seeker of tales and explorer of things unknown.
A whisper of a tale has brought me to the hamlet of Brenn, a small village tucked in the corner of Mount Esperion. Although the mountain is grand, my attention lies a day’s walk to the east of Brenn, away from the mountain, where a crumbling tower lies, forgotten and overrun with thorny vines and wild roses. To the naked eye, the tower is easy to miss, even when you are a stone-throw away. But I have a sense for magic, and I can feel its presence thick upon the ruins. A curse of the most wicked sort crosses the ground, and the victims of the heinous spell, forgotten to the world, remain entrapped inside for all time.
I have come to solve the mystery of the Tower of Secrets, and save the victims ensnared within.
Here’s more about the game coutesy of Amaranth:
“You are hired by a monk to break a curse on a haunted tower deep within the wilderness. To solve the mystery of the cursed tower, you must navigate a strange maze full of traps and puzzles. Upon your adventure, you will meet strange beings, most who wish to do you harm, and a few who wish to help you succeed on your quest.
Finding the tower is only the beginning. Once you break the curse, you discover a secret that puts everyone you love in jeopardy. Are you clever enough to outsmart the Tower of Secrets and save all that you love?”
A Gypsy’s Tale will feature 30 multi-scene environments to explore with dozens of hidden object puzzles and mini-games.
You’ll collect crystals to earn map pieces and purchase important items. You can use this map to quickly travel to different locations. You’ll also be able to track your quests with a journal, and track the number of quests and crystals per area.
Amaranth Games is well-known for creating the Aveyond role-playing games, and we can’t wait to see what new life they can breathe into the hidden object genre. A Gypsy’s Tale is very close to launch, so be sure to set up an alert if you’d like to be notified the moment that the game comes out.
