Hand-painted scenes depict the magical Wispa Forest
Wispa Forest is a beautiful-looking hidden object adventure game with hand-drawn fantasy-inspired levels that look a bit like Vincent Van Gogh meets The Wizard of Oz. The game is being developed by Two Tonic Games Studios and produced by Reflexive Entertainment, and will launch for PC and Mac later this year. There are a few more details that we can share with you from the game’s official website.
Here’s an excerpt from the official game description:
In a world where magic, myth, and fantasy are interwoven, a creeping wave of corruption is transforming the landscape and scarring the balance of life. Help guide young wispa Lyia on her quest to discover the source of the corruption by removing otherworldly debris, collecting trinkets, and protecting the native flora and fauna.
According to the website, the gameplay features more than a dozen hand-drawn levels to search for objects in as Lyia travels from her small village through the great Wispa Forest and the surrounding caves, swamps, mountains and towns. The game will also introduce item combinations and magical abilities to aid the player, as well as a multi-level matching game where players “must clear away the corruption before it spreads.
Lyia will be helped by her friends Ara and Hank the squirrel. Although Wispa Forest isn’t out yet, a sequel is already in the works to continue the story. The second installment, Ara’s Tail, will introduce a separate play mechanic and continue the journey of the three companions.
