Namco Networks Brings Puzzle Quest 2 to PC
Puzzle Quest 2, the sequel to Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, was announced for the Nintendo DS and Xbox Live Arcade platforms back in March, but we’ve just learned that the game is coming to the PC this summer as well courtesy of Namco Networks.
Developed by Infinite Interactive, the first Puzzle Quest was a surprise hit for its unique and compelling blend of match-3 puzzle and role-playing gameplay in a rich fantasy setting. In its sequel, Puzzle Quest 2, players must reclaim the once peaceful village of Verloren from the evil clutches of the demon Gorgon.
Gamers can play four distinct characters — Templar, Sorcerer, Barbarian or Assassin — that provide interesting twists on class-specific mechanics. While progressing, characters can be leveled up through the adventure in Story Mode, Instant Action, Tournament Mode or Multiplayer Mode.
Other new game features include:
- Online Leaderboards – players can experiences new levels of challenges with their customized characters;
- More active elements – like swinging weapons with both hands, using sidekicks to access spells, and equipping shields to wield in battle;
- Tons of mini-games using a variety of puzzle activities that reward gamers with constant treasure and experience while introducing new challenges – picking locks, bashing through doors and disarming traps;
- Puzzle Quest’s original, award-winning score blended with hundreds of hand-painted pieces of art, and new gem colors.
The PC game will be digitally distributed from Namcogames.com and other online portals.
