General Tips

General Tips:

  • The majority of objects in this title are randomized: randomized objects are not circled nor covered in this guide.
  • Puzzles cannot be skipped.
  • Unlimited hints are available in this game. You can use a hint by clicking on the cross on the right bottom side of the screen. When the cross is red, it still requires charging for another hint; when it’s completely blue, you may click it to use a hint.
  • Click the candle icon next to the cross in the bottom right portion of your screen to view your current objective.
  • Click the journal on the left bottom portion of the screen to go back over the story so far, and view any clues you might have jotted down.
  • Click on the doorway icon on the left bottom portion of the screen next to the journal to return to the main menu screen.
  • Click an item from your inventory to equip it, then click on what you’d like to use it on to use it. The golden hand icon will appear open if you can use the item there.
  • Access sound and music options via the options button from the main menu.

  • Once you’ve read the letter, exit Bresser’s Cottage and proceed to enter the Pharmacist’s House next door.

  • Find the 15 differences between the two pictures. They’ve been circled for you below.

  • Click on the pelt on the floor to move it aside and reveal a cellar door. Click on it to enter.

Basement

  • You’ll need a light before you can search the basement. Return back to the upper part of the Pharmacist’s House, exit, and enter Bresser’s Cottage.

Bresser’s Cottage

  • Pick up the lit Candle sitting on the table to add it to your inventory.

  • Proceed back to the Pharmacist’s House and back down to the Basement.

Basement

  • Use the Candle from your inventory on the unlit torch to light up the room.

  • Exit Bresser’s Cottage, exit Buchenfeld. When you reach the Bridge to Buchenfeld, take a right to reach the Mill.

  • Find the 10 sacks of flour scattered throughout the area. Their locations have been circled below.

  • After finding all the sacks of flour, click on the Wooden Boards (circled below) to add them to your inventory, then use them on the broken bridge (also circled below) to create a path to the other side.

  • Proceed across the newly repaired bridge to the Crossroads.

Crossroads

  • Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: objects are randomized, but the key item is circled for you. Find the Hand Scythe to add it to your inventory.

  • Once you’ve found all the items, use the Hand Scythe on the brush on the right to open up a new path. Click when the arrow appears to follow it.

  • Once you’ve found all the objects, exit and return to the Mill.

Mill

  • Use the Hand Scythe on the rope holding the suspended barrel to cut it, then pick up the Iron Ring that falls down.

  • Exit the Cottage and backtrack to the Crossroads. Now that the cart is gone, take the path on the left.

  • Once on the Farm, enter the building on the right.

Feast House

  • Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: objects are randomized, and there is no key item in this scene.
  • Exit the Feast House back to the Farm. Enter Derwalt’s Cottage on the left.

Derwalt’s Cottage

  • Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: objects are randomized, but the key item is circled for you. Find the Hammer to add it to your inventory.

  • Once you’ve found everything, exit the Cottage back to the Farm.

Farm

  • Find the 13 differences between the two pictures. They’ve been circled for you below.

  • Once you’ve found all the differences, you’ll be taken to a sort of matching game regarding the footprints. Find the footprints that match the bottom of the show exactly in order to proceed. A couple examples are shown below:

Mill

  • Enter Derwalt’s Cottage on the left.

  • Find the 12 scraps of paper scattered throughout the room. Their locations are shown below.

  • Once you’ve finished, exit the Cottage and return to the Crossroads outside the Farm.

  • Once you’ve found all the differences, take note of the strange symbol that was written on the side of the house.
  • Once you’ve finished, click on the middle house: the door to the Pharmacist’s House.
  • The door is locked with 4 deadbolts. You must unlock each of them, and in the proper order, to enter the house. Each lock is a little different, with the combinations being the same as before. The goal is to move the pins to the top. Unlock the deadbolts in the following order to successfully unlock the door (according to the numbering in the screenshot below):

  • Once inside the house, enter the Basement via the cellar door.

  • Find the 16 scraps of paper scattered throughout the room. Their locations are shown below:

  • Once you’ve found all the objects, pick up the Pelt and the Feather (circled below) to add them to your inventory.

  • Use the Pelt on the underside of the door, and the Feather on the lock to push out the Key. Click on the Pelt again to pull it back and pick up the Key.

  • Backtrack to the Pharmacist’s House in Buchenfeld.

  • After visiting the Pharmacist’s House, return once again to the Castle and enter.

  • Find the 14 differences between the two pictures. They are shown below for you.

  • Once you’ve found all the differences, click the torch on the left of the fireplace and enter the secret passage that appears.

Secret Castle Chamber

  • Once you’ve found all the objects on the list, click on the picture on the right wall to enter a puzzle.

  • Arrange the sliding tiles so that they match the design on the shield. A semi-transparency of the right tile’s design per square can be viewed beneath as you slide the tiles. The solution looks like this:

  • Pick up the Diary that appears once you complete the puzzle.

  • Once you’ve read the Diary, exit the chamber and proceed to the outside of the Castle. Take a look at the Well on the left, though it appears you’ll need something more in order to solve the puzzle. Return back inside the Castle and back to the Secret Castle Chamber.
  • Find the 16 differences between the two pictures. They are shown below.

  • Once you’ve found all the differences, combine the two pieces of Cloth in your inventory to come up with this design: you’ll need it to complete the puzzle at the Well.

  • Exit the Castle and click on the Well just outside to enter the puzzle.

Castle

  • Click on the symbols around the wheel one at a time in order of the symbols on the cloak from top to bottom. You can view the cloak design in your journal. Click the two rotating wheel panels so that each constellation is aligned correctly: the symbol will turn blue when this happens, and then you can move onto the next symbol and do the same thing. The solutions for all but the last one (which follows the exact same pattern) are shown below:

  • Once you’ve opened the Well, exit out of the bottom of the screen as if returning to the Crossroads to initiate the final cutscene.
